2014 Club Car Precedent - Works Great without any On Board Charger (OBC) modifications needed!
I received this over the weekend and it has worked great. I honestly believe it is charging my golf cart must better than the original Club Car charger and here is why: 1) If I plugged in my old charger, it would charge up to full capacity, but then drain down about 1.1 amp hours per hour due to stereo, battery gauge, and other 12v accessories plugged in. My old charger would never re-charge or trickle charge unless I unplugged it and plugged it back in again. 2) This charger is more light weight, plugged right in and charged up to 100% within a few hours 3) As my battery discharges due to the battery gauge, stereo memory, etc., this charger will keep it at 100% charged or kick back on and charge again. I am testing it for a few days without driving the cart to ensure that it stays at 100% and keeps trickle charging when it goes down below 100%. So far, so good. I will update if I find out any differences in my testing. Also, I have six 8V batteries on my cart. I know this comes up in a lot of the reviews, but I did not need to make any modifications to the OBC.

Plug it in and leave it alone
I recently purchased an older (1996) Club Car DS. The owner I bought it from warned me to monitor when charging with the original charger and once my voltage meter read 50 volts to disconnect as it was fully charged. I didn't want to have to worry about unplugging the cart at night so I ordered this charger. I was nervous when I saw the voltage readings up near 56 volts so I literally sat I'm my shop until it finally turned green indicating full charge. The batteries make a little sizzle noise (which is normal) and to my surprise, the cart runs fantastic. I now think the previous owner never charged the batteries to their full potential. After a lot of internet searching, I was put at ease and now understand better how golf carts actually operate in a state of over charge. Do not hesitate to purchase this charger, it is light and compact and safely charges batteries to their optimal charge. Let this charger do its job!

2009 Club Car
Just been using the charger for a week, but so far it's been working like a charm. The original charger is heavy and gets hot when charging. This one is light weight and stays cool.

Replaced my original charger
So much better than the charger that came with my cart. Charges quicker and easier to use. Amazing how light this unit is.

Durable and Fast!
This charger is extremely durable and well built. I have a 2012 Club Car and the original charger bit the dust. I ordered this and it arrived well packaged. Immediately I plugged it in and noticed that the handle that inserts into the cart charging port was sturdy and the cord is secured tightly. The charger kicked on and the flashing lights started. On the top, there is a legend so you know that the charger is working and where the battery level is at int he process. When it turns solid green, the cart is charged! This charger is much faster than my old charger. We also have one of these chargers for our EZGO and it works very well too!

1997 Club car with bypassed on board computer.
I have bypassed my OBC, as this is the second time that it has failed, cost to replace without labor is $ 200.00. I have had my charger for just 3 days, it does charge and shut off after a full charge, so far, I am very happy with it. The challenge will be in the cold winter months when the cart sits idle, will it keep the batteries charged just like my old charge when the OBC was still working?Updated 11.16.19, winter has arrived in the north, the unit still is working perfect. On good days without much snow, can still play golf, no loss of power. Very good product, light weight and so easy to use. If you are looking at either replacing your OBC or using this charger to bypass it, then this is the correct unit to purchase for a Club Car. Keep in mind that my Trojan batteries are 10 years old and this charger does not overcharge.Updated 01.26.20, first time I have checked on my cart in 2 months, cart took right off, no loss of power, drove part of the course, had to avoid snowbanks. Unit has done a great job in keeping my batteries charged. Much better option than to put money into a OBC.
