Poor poor fit
Everything was sewn on flat, and therefore the pad had no contour for the horses back. The pommel literally had to stretch downward when shaped around horses back, causing pressure on horse's spine. This wasn't a minor deal, it literally had a half inch to full inch bulge under the entire pommel area. The rigging area seemed to hang too low, which would require a shorter girth, and cause things to be in un-optimal placement. The rigging area was also sewn on in a straight across manner (note sewing lines on underside of pad), so this would not be ideal for dispersing pressure from the pad being tightened around the horse. I tried to show these conditions in the pictures posted. The wool and suede were very nice quality, but the leather ties were poor quality. The fit was the biggest short fall of the product, and I returned it (which costs a restocking fee, plus out of pocket shipping costs). While I love the concept, and hope it can be redesigned to fit more effectively, I would NOT currently recommend this product.
