I work at an airport, these are pretty great!
I work outside, on the ramp, at a major American East Coast airport. It's as noisy as you can imagine. I carry two radios for communicating with two different business partners, plus I need to be able to take phone calls from either, at any moment. The phone calls were the main issue, until I bought these. They offer true -27dB noise reduction. I have tested them literally side by side, these in one ear and OSHA approved ear plugs in the other and these live up to their advertised noise reduction capabilities.I don't listen to music on the ramp but will say that the sound quality for receiving calls is very good and I've never had anyone experience problems understanding me, even while standing within 20' of a 737 revving up its engines preparatory to departure. That said, I've worn them while listening to music on my riding mower, twice now, and the sound quality is decent, not audiophile quality but more than capable of handling any streaming music service or downloaded mp3 files without distortion.Battery life is beyond expectations. I was thinking 2, maybe three days at the most. After 7, 12-hour shifts, I was only down to 60%. Remember, I only used these for taking calls while at work plus maybe 2 hours total while mowing the lawn. They will shut down on standby, which I only experienced once. Anyway, the battery life is nothing to worry about.Edit: I have started listening to music during some of my shifts. Battery life is still remarkable and the music quality is decent. As far as comfort goes, I'm not a big fan of this style of ear plugs. They tend to hurt to my ear canals, I prefer foam plugs that can be rolled into a tight cylinder that expands into the ear canal. These became...uncomfortable...after about the 8th or 9th hour of wear? Not painful, just not...no longer noticeable...like I wanted to remove them but didn't feel I had to? Sort of weird, I know. My solution after a couple of days was just to take them out for a while during a slow period on my shift. Problem solved!Elgin makes a variety of Bluetooth-enabled hearing products. I chose these as being the cheapest "risk" and I am very happy with my choice. Give Elgin and its products a close look, and if you purchase I think you'll probably be quite satisfied, as am I.

Earbuds that work in loud places
These earbuds seriously saved me. They block noise really well, sound great, and don’t hurt even after wearing them all day. They come with two ear tip options, a solid case, and the battery lasts all day. Plus, they’re OSHA-certified and stay within the safe decibel limits

Great battery life and clear phone calls
Based off of my previous purchase of Elgin Rukus I look forward to enjoying the Elgin Discord. The benefits for myself in both products were comfort and functionality. I greatly benefitted in the area of having a phone conversation while cancelling outside noise. The other benefits in both is long battery life and the fact they are thethered by their cord which helps me in preventing losing one or the other. So far the only downside i seen was with the rukus earbud tips, i could not find the correct replacements even on their website. But my appreciation of the quality lead me to purchase the discord. I'll give Elgin more business in the future.

Best Bluetooth headphones for blue collar workers
I am a machinist, and work in a loud environment. These headphones have lasted me a year, and work exactly like they did the day I got them. The battery can last 2 to 3 days working 10-12 hour days, which helps when I forget to charge. The buds fit snugly in the ear and help protect your ear from high and low frequencies. The buttons work fine even when exposed to moisture. The sound quality is similar to Apple headphones. Well worth the price when compared to other headphones on the market. One of the top ten best purchases I’ve ever made in my life.UPDATE: About a year after I made this review I’ve started having issues with the headphones. They will turn off intermittently through the day and I’ll need to plug the charging cable in for a few seconds to “jump” the battery into turning back on. Overall I’d say they lasted roughly 3 years, and if I didn’t have money to buy a new pair, I’d be fine continuing to use them because they still work fine enough even with the inconvenience. I’ve already purchased the newer Discord model and am pleased by the quality so far. I still stand by my original review of the product and highly recommend it as a purchase for blue collar working people.

Had a little trouble but Elgin honored warranty
I've had these headphones since July 30. (About 40 days or so.) A tear randomly happened in the yellow earbud cover. I have treated them very gently and carefully because there are $60, so I don't understand what happened. There are no replacements for the yellow earplug and mine has now completely detached. The sound was great and the battery life was amazing, but here we are.UPDATE:It took some time to get in touch with Elgin USA for a warranty claim. At first Amazon gave me a number and I couldn’t seem to get through. Elgin’s website isn’t very helpful, but finally Amazon let me know I could message Elgin through them. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that or why Amazon didn’t mention the message option in the first place, but eventually I did get through. Message them through Amazon if you have an issue.Within a few weeks, I had my replacement pair in hand. Great voice cancellation, long battery life, good sound. Elgin USA made good on the warranty, so I’m updating my 1 star to 4 stars. Only docking one star for how long it took to actually get in touch with them and for the issue with the first pair. But nothing is perfect, so I hesitate to not give 5 stars. The headphones really are great. I’ll update if I have any issues with the new pair, but so far I don’t think I will.UPDATE: 8 months later they’re dead. It connects, but the sound is in and out. I’ve kept them very carefully so it can’t be anything I’ve done to them.I’m not going to even bother with trying to get a replacement pair again because it’s obvious they’re not worth the $60 I spent. I spent half of that on a pair that lasted well over 2 years so I’ll go back to those. I see these aren’t even available anymore, I just wanted you say my piece.
