Does What It's Meant To Do
The SeamFil product was easy to use and worked as advertised. For deep chips in Formica countertops, more than one application may be required as SeamFil does shrink a bit as it dries. For cracks and seams between separate pieces of Formica, SeamFil bridged the gaps nicely. Recommendation: watch the YouTube videos before using SeamFil as there are valuable tips on applying the product. My fault entirely: I bought the white SeamFil because it seemed closest to the color of my kitchen Formica countertop which is sort of a faint parchment/bluish color. The white SeamFil stands out glaringly. Perhaps I'll try spilling coffee on the repairs and see if the white can be toned down.

Works great
Cures incredibly fast so work quickly. I found using tape on both sides of the seam and using a glove and my finger worked the best. If your countertop has texture get the solution to remove it in case you miss the tape as it’s impossible to get out or the groves once cured.

Not a perfect repair on our white melamine board, but good enough for the garage. :)
My search for a white melamine hole filler found this product. The pros:+ Free shipping when I bought a tube.+ Pretty good customer product reviews.+ Did a pretty good job filling 25 holes on our melamine board!+ Comes in different colors & can be mixed to match most laminates.+ Can be used to repair nicks, seams, gouges & will hide defects.+ Drys, hardens very quickly.+ Easy application with a putty knife.+ Cleanup with acetone. The Cons:- $12.90 for a 1 oz tube is on the expensive side!- Flammable.- VERY strong smell, as this is acetone based!- This filler will shrink when used on deep holes. Our application required multiple applications, over several days!Closing remarks:▪ Our water filtration upgrade project required reusing a melamine backer board, which the filters are mounted on. Using this filler was the lower cost option, to replacing the backer board.▪ There were some deep screw holes on our backer board, so it took multiple applications of this filler over a few days. I applied this filler directly from the tube. The application wasn't too bad, just requiring a sharp putty knife. You want to use this stuff in a well ventilated room, as it smells real bad!▪ Really no need to buy a special cleaner. This product is acetone based, so full strength acetone... aka, fingernail polish remover works perfectly to remove any residue.▪ The attached pictures look splotchy, in reality they don't appear that way... perhaps the picture resolution Amazon allows? The finished result was pretty good... completely acceptable to me & I'm very picky. :)

Easy!
So easy to use. I had slashes--like from knives-- on my Formica. I put a small amount on a paper plate, stirred it with a toothpick until it got thick--just a few seconds. Then, I painted it with the toothpick--using a stroking motion. It dried within 10 minutes. I put a bit too much but used a clean sandpaper block n gently brushed it until smooth. Within a few hours, it was perfect! You couldn't even see where the original mark was. I used the same technique for other marks. I was very happy n very impressed!

Works OK for melamine, but not invisible, nor a filler.
I'm a furniture-maker who usually works in solid wood and ply, but for this project, white melamine was the best choice. I bought the seam-fil to fill and disguise the inevitable chips in the melamine from cutting on the table saw.The seam-fil recommends working it until it is thickening, but that didn't work well for me, so I started using it right out of the tube like the other reviewer. Using either method, the seam-fil doesn't really fill the chips. It turns them white and kind of plasticky looking so the chips are somewhat camouflaged, but there are still depressions in the surface. Also, you need to tape off the good melamine or it will change the sheen of those surfaces. It recommends a specific solvent, which of course I don't have, but I found acetone works pretty well for cleaning off residue (after scraping with a knife)...but do yourself a favor and tape off a clean line.I thought this might be a revelation that would allow me to invisibly seam 2 pieces of melamine together, but unfortunately, it is not. If I had time, I would probably just fill the chips with my regular wood putty and paint the whole thing with plastic paint.

Cures Ridiculously Fast
Had a crack in my antique laminate kitchen countertop and somehow decided on using this stuff. It cures rock solid almost instantaneously so it can be a bit tricky to work with. I ended up putting in two layers a few days inbetween, and I sanded away any excess with a narrow putty knife. Filled and hid the crack well.
