Great kitchen gadget
This spiralizer is awesome! I'm not usually a fan of adding more kitchen gadgets to the ones I already have, but since I started the AIP diet 10 months ago and no longer eat grain, rice, or bean-based pasta, I wanted to have a way to make my own veggie pasta noodles. Yes, you can buy them pre-made at the grocery, but they are exorbitantly priced. For the past several months I had been using a hand-held shredder, which does a decent job of making straight shreds, but it is dangerous to use with a firm vegetable such as butternut squash (at least in my hands!). This spiralizer takes most of the work out of the job, and I love the design! It comes with seven blades and a storage caddy, and the blades are easily and safely changed out. I had no problems with the suction on my laminate counter; it held fast during zucchini, potato, and sweet potato spiralizing. I was afraid the cleaning might be a chore, as this is kind of a large unit with moving parts, but nope, it's very easy to clean. They have cleverly designed it with a tray under the sliding mechanism to catch any juice. I also like the book with clear instructions and cooking tips. This photo is the first dish I made with it: thinly slice 1/2 onion and chop 2 cloves of garlic. Saute in 1 Tbs. olive oil until lightly browned, then add 2 spiralized zucchini. Toss to combine for no more than one minute- if you cook zucchini noodles much longer, they will get mushy. Enjoy!

The BEST...if you follow instructions!
I was deciding between the Spiralizer brand and the Paderno brand. Based on the slightly higher reviews, I went with the Spiralizer. Have used it regularly since purchasing and have joined the Zoodle converts. It works fast and they look picture-perfect. The whole apparatus is very light--which is certainly better than heavy--and a cinch to clean. IF you secure the suction cups, it's effortless to use and works like a charm in literally less than a minute (for one large zucchini). I was going to recommend that they add a holder for all of the finished product. However, I decided that I actually like having one less part to store away and since it would likely be plastic, I definitely prefer to use my own ceramic, glass or another non-reactive container. However, the following two factors kept me from giving 5-stars: (NOTE to Amazon: you need to create 1/2 stars in your rating rubric.) 1. The suction cups on the bottom aren't the best solution to keeping it in place. (And woe to the user who doesn't READ the instructions. Of course, that's on the user, but you'll find it near impossible to use if you miss this key step.) I think silicone or rubber grommets should be product tested as a better option. 2. I'd like to see a stainless steel model for the plastic teeth that go into the produce. Not only is this better than the HUNDREDS of chemicals that leach from plastic (no, it's not just BPA, PVC, and phthalates), but I'm guessing it would make for a stronger grip on more dense food like sweet potatoes, beets, and other root vegetables. To be balanced, MOST brands out here use plastic because it keeps the price down. However, I'm willing to pay a little more for the durability, utility and reduced toxicity of food-grade, 18/10 stainless steel.

So happy I have one of these Love it!
I just got this and so far we love it! The SO just quit smokeing and has put on some weight. He wants to drop the pounds and is finding it hard to cut the carbs. He discovered the spiral veggies in the store but didn't love the price tag. We decided to get a spiralizer of our own. First day it arrived he was enchanted with it. We have used it every night since! This is going to introduce a lot of veggies into our lives. The unit couldn't be easier to use. It does stick well to our counter top. Three of the five blades store right in the unit. The other two we have left in the packaging . Cleaning is super easy. Right after we use it a quick rince and wipe and the unit is clean. I imagine if you were to leave the veggie scraps in the blades it would be a bit tricky to clean but cleaning as we go it is extremely easy! I look forward to using this on lots of veggies. First veggie to go was Zukini. We used the middle size blade and got spirals I would call more like fettachini noodles. Really good, we sautéed them with olive oil and sault and pepper, served them next to a grilled porkchop. Spiralized the broccoli stem last night and the spirals were great in my opinion. I used the small blade that made like angel hair pasta and they turned into little crunchies in the oven! They were really nutty tasteing and I loved them! I think they would be verry good as a Salad topping, but I ate them all! I saw a recipe for chicken zoodle soup. I tried it just like it said. Don't put the zoodles in the soup to cook, just make the soup (less the noodles), and poor the hot soup over the raw zoodles and let the hot soup cook/soften the zoodles. Yummm! I also did the same with the cold soup and tossed the zoodles in and microwaved it . The zoodles were perfect when the soup was hot. I love chicken noodle soup and this is going to be a staple at home. Can't wait to see the next veggie up for dinner! I even love the "off fall" that little core that is a result of spiralizing. That little jem is just as tasty as the veggie it came from! No reason to toss it IMO. Just eat it! Pretty cool kitchen gadget and glad I have one!

If you've got kids, this is a must have in the kitchen!
Spiralizer® Tri-Blade Vegetable Spiral Slicer, Strongest-Heaviest, 100% Risk Free with Lifetime Guarantee, Best Veggie Pasta Spaghetti Maker for Low Carb/Paleo/Gluten-Free Meals I received my Spiralizer about a week ago and have already used it for so many things! Zucchini with pesto and red sauce, grilled onions, cucumber Asian salads, baked sweet potato fries, curly potato fries and much more. I was so thrilled that my 8 year old twins could almost independently '"'Spiralize'"' the soft veggies...while having fun and munching on the "mushroom" cores. This week',' each time we have' had' a friend visit or the kids go on "play dates"',' we take some garden goodies that have been spiralized...it ha's' been a hit at every house. Most kids have finished the bowls of raw veggies without any dressings or extras. Yesterday',' we dropped the kids with a full bowl of zucchini zoodles and lemon cucumbers and 3 hours later when we picked up',' the mom told us she had already ordered a Spiralizer for her family.' M'y 8 year olds explained 'to her 'how the Spiralizer worked and all the recipes we have tried! They even had her watch a few of the YouTube videos we watched when waiting for ours to arrive. I highly recommend this to any household trying to get more veggies into their meals, especially if they have kids. Before, I would prep lots of veggies with a mandolin. With my mandolin',' the shape of the zoodles were different. The zoodles with my mandolin were relatively short and seem'ed' more rectangular. The mouth feel was "chopped 'v'eggies" 'as 'opposed to "noodle's'". Also',' I would never allow my kids to help with the prep and my arm would get tired - my family of four can eat 6-7 zucchini just for dinner. With the Spiralizer',' I have spiralized 8 potatoes, 4 onions, 12 cucumbers and 12 zucchini at one time and my arm felt fine...the motion is' entirely''' different...although so far I have to admit',' my kids spiralize most of it. I peel and cut the ends and they do the rest. My husband',' who is not a big fan of kitchen tools',' even pulled it out for his salad last night. The easy clean up is another added bonus. We just rinse with a little dish soap and it's done.

I thank God for products like this, it's like a gift and miracle in one.
So I just thought I was too lazy to cut my veggies nicely. I thought since the julienned & nice veges at the supermarket were too expensive that I'd just have to buy my veggies regular and I'd have to do without certain nice things in my life. Maybe had I become a chef, then my veggies would be a nice texture, but no. I splurged and bought this. Why? Because I'm tired of going to Chinese restaurants all the time just so I can have Veggie Spring rolls. I found the veggie spring roll wrapper at World Market, now it was about getting those veggies with the correct texture. I straight put cabbage in my spiralizer and it spiraled it. SO FAST. SO EASY. SO SAFELY. and boom. In mere seconds/minutes, one of those two.. I had myself ALL my finely chopped veggies. And if anything was too long after going through the spiralizer, it was a super fast chop on the cutting board, nothing complicated and boom. The spiralizer had already made everything perfectly thin and sublime. I feel like, having this tool made me and insta chef. Like now I can have fancy food. I spiralized potatoes that needed chopping, but I was too lazy to chop up to make anything out of. But no. I spiralized those potatoes and baked them in the oven with olive oil, salt and pepper & garlic salt at 450 degrees for 30 minutes, tossing every ten min.. and boom. Tasty thin nice potatoes with some crunch on the edges.. it came out so flavorful, kind of like hash but nicer.. like chips... they were "buttery" tender.. you could just as easily fry them to make chips, or pan fry, whatever.. I will never go back. This changed my life. As I spiralized, I looked towards Heaven and thanked my God for blessing the world with this tool. And I felt pity and sadness for the generations prior to this tool's existence. "Shame they didn't have this, those poor people" and I almost cried for them. Then I smiled and shook my head with joy that I got to use this product and was so grateful. I thought, so this is what it might feel like to win the lotto.. a deep thankfulness. That's how it feels to buy and use this tool.

Solid 3.5 stars for this spiralizer
Please see comment left by RWM on this review. Apparently Bitoni has been creating multiple shill accounts in order to downvote reviews that are less than 5 stars. This actually explains a lot. Shill accounts are so sketchy/shady/bad business, and based on this practice, I can't recommend supporting a business that does this. However, this review is solely for the product, and as such, I will leave it as-is (although Bitoni seriously deserves a 1 star as a company). RWM has also left a bit more information on other similar, if not identical, products for those who are interested in purchasing a spiralizer like this from another company in the comments below. Please take a look for his/her thorough review for multiple spiralizer reviews. ----- I primarily purchased this to spiralize cucumbers and zucchini to make noodles. I bought this because this was cheaper than Paderno's at the time of purchase. The promise of being 30% heavier than the competitor's was also alluring even if I couldn't personally verify it. For the record, I weighed this gadget on my digital kitchen scale, and it clocked in at 1 lb 6 7/8 oz. with the noodle blade. First things first: The initial pictures of this unit were green. Amazon or the seller has since changed the picture. Mine arrived white, but this isn't a problem for me. The one I got looks exactly like a Paderno or this one here, which at the time, was 22% less: http://www.amazon.com/Essential-Spiralizer-Tri-Blade-Spiral-Vegetable/dp/B006THC75E/. Overall, I'm relatively content with this device, but there are a few significant things that I feel are worth mentioning: 1. When I rotate the handle and the veggie is going through the blade, the center of the core (where it goes through the corer) is rarely straight. This is very annoying especially if you're trying to remove as much of the core as possible, especially with cucumbers, without cutting into the flesh. To combat this, I usually slice the veggie in half so that there's less distance for the vegetable to travel to the blade, eliminating frequent adjusting. 2. Nicks in the blade. My favorite attachment is the noodle, and it's the one I use the most frequently. After using this attachment a couple of times, I noticed some small nicks in the large blade. I carefully handwash all parts of this kitchen gadget and spiralize cucumbers and squashes, so it was disappointing. I am hoping that there will be no more chips. 3. The suction cups are useless. They do not stick to granite or glass. I've tried to smoosh it down, use water to increase suction, and nothing. I have to hold it down by hand when spiralizing. This device is also pretty light, so if it's 30% heavier than Paderno, I can't even imagine how light the Paderno one is... (Note: this isn't a "ding" on the product, but if you are looking to make noodles from harder root veggies like carrots, please get a julienne peeler.) However, on the plus side, this product is easy to use, easy to take apart, and most importantly, easy to clean. When I use my spiralizer despite its flaws, I notice a significant uptake in my intake of veggies, and they're a lot more enjoyable to eat. ----- Noodle tip - When I spiralize cucumbers and squashes, I always salt them and wring out the excess water. This removes a lot of the water from the vegetable, so that when you use it in dishes, it doesn't end up soupy. I noticed that my noodles end up with a nice bite/crunch to them when I cook with them: no blanching necessary.

Better Than I Expected For Sure
I wasn't expecting this to be as nice as a spiralizer as it is for the price. I made several different kinds of raw pasta with it with daikon radish and zucchini that turned out great. It is very easy to use and clean. You do have to push down a few times to get it to stick well to the counter, but other than that it works just wonderfully for making raw pasta. I am trying to eat more raw because I know how amazing it is for your health and how great it makes me feel. I made a fabulous raw pad thai recipe and a few days later I made spaghetti with tomato sauce with it. If you are making raw pasta it is suggested by many recipes online that you spiralize the pasta and then place it over paper towels and salt it some to help get rid of the excess moisture so your pasta does not come out too watery when you mix it with the sauce. This works very well. I am excited to eat much healthier (raw) but still enjoy a lot of the old pasta dishes I love. Daikon radish, if you have not tried it works extremely well spiralized and has a very subtle flavor that can be used in place of any white or brown pasta. I love that this spiralizer come with so many different grates to make different widths of noodles. Very nice product.
