Love it!

There is a clear apple taste, but not overpowering. As such there is a bit of sweetness to the sauce. Normally, I'm not a big fan of sweet, but in this case the sugar is balanced with a number of other complimentary flavors. Like all Rufus Teague sauces, this is a bold flavor. That said, I'd recommend it primarily for pork, secondary target would be chicken. For my taste, I'd go for some of the other RT flavors for red meats.

This is a great brisket sauce. After seasoning the brisket with prime rub and establishing a good bark, I wrap it in aluminum foil, add the BBQ sauce along with about 4-6 apples cored, peeled and cut into rings and bring to temp making sure not to allow the liquid to evaporate completely. Adding apple juice once or twice will save the day.

It's refreshing to be able to read a label and understand all of the ingredients. Rufus Teague proves you don't have to be an alchemist to deliver great and unique flavors. Each bottle of Smoky Apple BBQ Sauce is a testament to the magic that happens when simplicity meets innovation. I will never order this again. I got food poisoning shortly after eating this. It wasn't the food as everyone had the same thing I did. I was the only one who had it with the sauce. This was used as a dipping sauce for my cooked meal.
