Opened the box, looked like decent quality with a nice weatherproof inline fuse. Ring terminals were a bit lite, but adequate. I didn't even think to check polarity before wiring to the battery. The exposed pin should be ground (negative). It is not! Red (positive) is exposed. Especially on a ring terminal I would expect the recessed pin on the SAE connector to be positive and the exposed pin to be negative.

This product is designed to be used on the load side, not the supply side. That is, the polarity is switched (red feeds negative and black feeds positive) if you connect the pigtails to a charger or some other source of power. I blew the fuse on my USB charger before I realized it.However, if you're hooking up to a battery as a quick disconnect for a battery maintainer, charger, etc, the polarity is correct.Otherwise the cables are heavy and well built. The attached caps are snug and would protect the conductors well.

Good product. Exactly as described and photographed in the ad. Some reviews say "wrong polarity", I believe this is in error on the buyer's part. On this connector the red wire goes to the pin, black to socket, so this is the correct connector for the load or charger side of the connection. If you intend to use the pigtail on the battery side of a circuit you need to buy a different connector with red as the socket. Pin is load side, socket is battery side for red positive. I use these on motorcycles and my camper for cables coming from a charger, or a volt meter to check battery voltage.

As others have mentioned, the polarity of these is backwards from what you likely expect (in most uses the positive is the shielded side). But otherwise they work great. I just wired them opposite of the colors and tossed some heat shrink over the red/black wires so as to not cause future confusion and they work great. Bought them because of the price and the included dust/water cover. As long as you are ok switching the wiring colors, they work great.

I needed the longer cable for my motorcycle. It doesn't work. Hooked it up to battery and nada. Bad connection or perhaps as some have found reverse polarity. I never checked that and nor will I as I expect Red to be +ve and black to be GND and I need that convention for how I am setting things up. Back to Amazon to search for a cable that actually works. Steer clear of this junk.

Decent product that does work with even a Battery Tender Jr/Plus models. Only issue is the polarity is reversed even for the O ring terminal connectors. This is for when using it with a vehicle battery.

No idea how this has so many positive reviews unless bots or misinformation is happening. If you like backwards SAE ends that are also not compatible with each other, than this is your product. Please look at pic. Red should be protected, black should be exposed for 4 different items at my house. I just submitted rma, save yourself some time and buy the correct product.

Good quality but black is positive and red is negative.
