KRUPS GX4100 Electric Spice Herbs and Coffee Grinder with Stainless Steel Blades and Housing, 3-Ounce, Gray

After having my 16 yr old KRUPS coffee and spice grinder finally die from daily use, I went looking for a new one. As I read the reviews of those available, I came upon the KRUPS GX4100. I have to say this is just a wonderful little machine. It is far quieter than my old one and really does the job quickly with my coffee beans every morning.I would suggest that when you use it daily, be sure to wipe it out with a slightly damp paper towel to keep the oils from sitting in the grinding cup of the grinder, you will be glad you did. The fresh ground coffee you will get from this little powerhouse is great. Also, you can grind your coffee or spices a coarse or as fine as you want. A definite plus for those of you who want to make expresso.So, if you want a reasonably priced grinder. This is the one for you

So quiet and powerful. It seems really well made. I've only had this for a day or two, but I LOVE it. It works quite a bit better than those grinders with the removable grinding chambers or bowls (those things are always loud, and break rather quickly). It also works better than many of those that don't have the removable grinding chambers.The only con is that the lid is a bit tricky to get in place properly.I'm sure this doesn't work as well as professional burr grinders, and the grind isn't exactly the same size, but none of the cheap-ish blade grinders that I've tried get completely even grind size.

Works really well for coffee. Makes a very fine grind in about 12 seconds. The grinder is large enough to make quite a bit of coffee unlike standard coffee grinders. Also, it is quite quiet when grinding whole beans. The lid takes a bit getting used to as it has a latch that makes it necessary to rotate the lid before use. When you first receive it the latch is quite tight,. After 2 or 3 uses the problem goes away. It's the best rotary coffee grinder I've ever had.

It is constructed well, looks good, and works well.Please see photos for 70 grams of coffee in the lid, and then in the body.There is not an inner container that is removable. Therefore, to dump the ground contents out, you will have to invert the entire unit upside down with the lid still on, thereby placing all ground materials into the lid, separate the body from the lid, and dump the lid. You can also remove the lid, then dump the ground contents. I think a coffee grinder of this size would benefit from a removable inner tray.The Amazon description states "Oval design and stainless steel blades ensure uniform grinding and chopping," but it is not oval. I think that was a mistake made by copying from the KRUPS F203 ( www.amazon.com/dp/B00004SPEU ) description, which indeed is oval.The lid is round and locks by aligning it first, then turning it clockwise a very small amount. There are two plastic catches with corresponding notches on the lid that I think will break before long. After less than 5 uses, it's already showing signs of wear. Once these two break, it will be difficult to operate the grinder, because aligning the lid also aligns the upper portion of the push button switch on the lid to the switch mechanism that is flush on the body. Please see attached photos on these.Also, how they designed the lid near the upper portion of the push button switch will be problematic in cleaning. I already have grounds I cannot reach in the nooks of the lid. As you can see in the photo with the lid upside-down, the black button part is removable with a small flat-head screw driver, but doing so will probably weaken the prongs which will eventually break.How the F203's oval deep lid just slid in without any complicated mechanism is simple and great. Had they done a similar design with this GX4100, I would have given it a 5 star.

I purchased this grinder in 2012 after an older Braun snapped a blade, and I've had no problems with it in that time, with almost-daily use. I align the lid, grind my coffee (rarely more than a quarter cup), turn it over and give it a solid whack on the counter to dislodge anything loose, then unseat the lid and use it as a cup to deposit the grounds in to my coffee filter. I've seriously done this over a thousand times with this grinder, and while I can't vouch for it's reliability in to the next 4 years, it's been a pretty solid unit for the last 4, and I have no hesitation recommending it.Update 3/3/2019: still going strong. The button to activate is showing signs of wear, but still does the job, every single day. I've definitely gotten my money's worth.

This stainless steel grinder exceeds my expectations. The Krups GX4100 is made in Mexico; sturdily built; easy to clean; quiet in operation; and sharp looking. The instruction manual is 5 pages in English and easy to understand. There's space at bottom of grinder to hide cord when not in use. There's really only 2 parts to this grinder: the top grinder lid with the attached power button and the rest of the machine (grinding chamber and motor base). The top grinder lid is removed from rest of machine by a counter clockwise rotation and may be immersed in water for washing. The rest of the machine ---the grinding chamber which is permanently attached to the motor base may NEVER be immersed in any kind of liquid but should be cleaned with a damp cloth. The grinding chamber can be filled with 1/2 to 3/4 of product (coffee beans or spices). The fineness of the grind is dependent on the length of the grind and the length of the grind is dependent on the power button being depressed. The see-through grinding chamber shows the fineness. You can't go wrong with this grinder.

Very good grinder. Works great for coffee. You can pack in a little more than you think and still grinds it up nice and fine. With the pulses you can get a good courser ground. Easy to clean and stores away in small spaces so it doesn't take up a lot of room. For a grinder, it's pretty quiet. We ground a LOT as soon as we got it and it held up with no problems. Been working great ever since.

Llevo usando el molino de café Krups desde hace cuatro meses aproximadamente y hasta el día de hoy no me presentado ningún problema, y eso que lo uso constantemente debido a mi afición por el café fresco y recién molido; ni sobrecalentamiento ni atascos, nada. El resultado es un molido uniforme que atribuyo a la disposición de las aspas. La limpieza ciertamente cuesta un poco más de trabajo, pero nada que una brocha pequeña y una servilleta de papel no puedan solucionar. Estoy más que satisfecho con la compra.

J'ai acheté ce moulin Krups pour broyer mes amandes et mes épices.J'ai eu un peu de difficulté a m'adapter au couvercle, c'est mieux maintenant mais il est très sécuritaire.Le moulin est très efficace et la mouture peut être très fine si nécessaire. Pour moi c'est très apprécié.Les frais de transport étaient payés par Amazon et le service a été très rapide, merci.

Me encantó la facilidad con que puedes manejar el molino para obtener un café recién molido. Yo digo que cualquier amante del café debe tener en casa un molino como esté. Es sencillo de usar, muele muy bien el café y además también es sencillo de limpiar! Creo que tiene muchos beneficios, además la marca, para mi es garantía. 100% recomendable.

Unit is new, so “time will tell”. North American (Mexico) made. Initial impressions are of a sturdy, well-designed product. Turning it on shows a definite kick (powerful motor) which smoothly purrs.

Excellent
