Not too bad
So there were no reviews for this when I bought it so I am going to try and be pretty thorough for future buyers.Firstly, I bought this for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She loves it. She is 35" tall and can just about reach the petals- when one leg is fully extended she just barely loses touch with the pedal so she needs about another inch or two even on the lowest seat setting. The handle bars do not seem adjustable in height even though the seat is.When we received it, it came in a box that did not seem possible to hold a bike in, it was completely disassembled. The directions are horrible and vague. They use the word "bolt" to describe both screws and bolts, so you have to decipher which would most likely fit where. The directions show the types of "bolts" you should have, but they do not say how many of each. We got extras so it took some logical thinking to figure out which ones went where. The parent handle has those buttons that push in while you slide it into place then pop into the hole. Ours did not. The buttons did not pop back out on their own, they just got stuck in. It is still usable, but the handle will slide from side to side and will pop out easy (which is convenient for putting in the car, but don't rely on it).The picture makes the tires look like real tires, they are in fact plastic with foam. They are quiet tires and work well, but still not as good as a real tire.We were unable to affix the face plate onto the bike, we didn't really want to, but still. There were no directions on how to and there was no hardware for it. The extra bolts we had did not work of course, it seems like you would need zip ties or something of that sort. The handle bars are attached with a u shaped piece that is locked in with a bolt. The u shaped piece will need to be squeezed closer in order to make the bolt fit and to keep the handle bars in the correct position- you will need pliers. In fact you will need needle nose pliers and a socket wrench for the bolts and a hammer for the hubcaps on the rear wheels. My husband and I both ended up with a couple of small injuries while assembling. All that being said, my daughter loves it and it is a good starter bike. I paid $36 and change with free Prime shipping any more than $40 and it would have been a rip off. I have seen other bikes that cost way more and appear far worse. All in all, I think this bike will last about a year and a half (my daughter takes fairly good care of her toys). Right now she will ride for a few minutes, but then, unable to do it herself, she chooses to push it instead.I would recommend it if you have the patience for the assembly and if you just want a cheap bike for your child to learn on but don't plan on keeping it for a long time. This probably will not last to be a hand me down. We only ride on pavement, I don't think it would do well on grass.
