York the best of the series
This aliens-in-space novella series has been entertaining. I like York the best because there are action scenes and more drama in this tale. The others were interesting but despite the tough guy heroes & rhetoric, there's not much more than boy-meets-girl-they-have-sex. The world build is interesting & so much potential exists for broader stories & richer plot lines. Its disappointing that hasn't happened yet.The 4th in the series also has some interesting but limited escape scenarios. But that's pretty much the extent of the adventure. That one started out promising with the heroine knife-fighting but from that moment on she fell into the more normal formula Dohner has where the heroine is a damsel in distress.Still - I enjoyed these quick reads - felt the pricing was reasonable considering their length & am looking forward to the 5th - which I really hope will have more substance.

Great physical and emotional chemsitry!
First let me say, I've been a huge Laurann Dohner fan from the first time I picked up Fury, the first book in her New Species Series. I've read everything in that series, her Mating Heat series, her Zorn series as well as her Cyborg series. Pretty much anything she'd put out when she was with E.C. Even after they closed, I've devoured her new series - VLG books and her newest series The Vorge Crew.York is the third book in that particular series, and one that I was really waiting for. I wanted to see the big blue guy get his story - particularly after Ms. Dohner let it slip in one of the earlier books that he likes to be told what to do in the bedroom - it's a quirk of his species - they enjoy catering to their mates every whim, and they don't just crave their mate's touch but need it to stay healthy. So my little inner freak was definitely squealing about that.Needless to say, once the book hit my reader on Tuesday, I spent part of Tuesday night unwinding with my reader in hand while my grandson watched his show on tv. I thoroughly enjoyed York and Sara's story. Their chemistry and emotion closeness really drew me in. Ms. Dohner did a great job making both of their motives and reactions realistic. There was no sex just for sex sakes. Even though it was a great book, it seemed to end too soon for me. I was hoping to see a bit more of a power exchange (that's the inner kinkster inside me) but even without that dynamic, the scenes were sizzling and very satisfying. I give York 4 Naughty Handcuffs.

Wow!
I've loved all of the Vorge books, but this one is my favorite so far. (can't wait for book 4!) I loved how sweet York was, and yet deadly when his mate was threatened. He was completely perfect for Sara. I liked that she was capable of taking care of herself, yet stood aside and let York defend her, knowing he needed to take care of her. I also enjoyed seeing more interactions with the pods! All in all, Ms. Dohner hit it out of the park yet again with an amazing read that I will enjoy many times over.

Best so far in this series!
York wants a mate. He is lonely after his friends and crew found their humans. He plans to be matched to a Parri female but the one he is matched to is cruel and shallow. Sara was sold to slavers by her own government until she is rescued and placed in a shelter. She refuses to go back to earth afraid she will be captured and sold again but life in the shelter is not easy. She is treated with distrust and given a job at a bar where she is constantly propositioned and manhandled....er...alien-handled. When the two blue aliens come to her attention she is struck by how mean the female alien is to York. When the opportunity presents itself, she advises York to find another mate...that he could do a lot better. In fact, Sara has a way to save them both if only she can convince York to mate with her instead. This book has everything and it delivers in every way. York is handsome, kind, sensitive and can also kick some major butt! Sara is no shrinking violet, she's had to be tough to survive in her poverty ridden earth neighborhood. I loved the first two in this series but this was my favorite so far!

I just wanna hug him!
I love York. He’s kind of a goofy dude but so freakin earnest. I just wanna hug him.York is best enjoyed by reading the previous books but it’s not totally necessary. I found the set-up to be a bit of a reach. He’s desperately lonely and biologically needs companionship. That being explained, I found it hard to believe that he would have gone through with mating the first woman. She was definitely over-done with respect to her bitchiness. No one is that awful and is still functional-it was too much.Fortunately, that was over in the first 1/5 of the book. The hero and heroine were actually pretty relatable. Sara made decisions and reacted as I might if in her situation. As mentioned above, York was questionable at the very beginning but after that he was fun to read.My one complaint- in Dovis it was explained that York’s species cannot get aroused without kissing on the lips. I was waiting for an epic first kiss or kissing scene. Nope. This aspect was forgotten (or biologically fixed!) because they were well into things before they ever kissed. 👎🏻 Epic editing fail.

York #310/14/2024
York has come to this planet to get a mate but the one he has found is the same race as him but she is very rude to him. On a transport to get to the shopping center on the planet Sara is on her way to work when she notices this blue alien being abused by a blue woman she doesn’t even call him by his name after being corrected a number of times. When getting off the transport Sara tell the blue guy you could do better. Later York see the human again while having dinner and they start talking. Sara finds out he’s getting sort of married tomorrow. That night Sara can’t stop thing about York. In the morning she decides she going to stop him from making that mistake. And to do that she will become his mate. So see how it works out. Enjoy!!
