Operation Flashpoint: Game of the Year Edition (PC CD)

Operation Flashpoint is a game changer. This title spawned the whole ARMA series and if you are a fan of that series then you need to take a look at this game to see where it all began.This game came out in an era that was full of potential and there is no doubt that this title or its offspring is still having an impact on titles today. SQUAD for example launched recently on steam and that's pretty much OPF or ARMA. Its good to know games like this still live on.Check it out, Graphics were good at the time but poor by today's standards. That being said you still needed a beast of a machine to play it back then.

Flashpoint is a game that everyone should own. It really is as stunning as the reviews say it is. Even 6+ years after release this is a game I return to again and again.Why?The feeling it has is quite timeless. Sure other games have better graphics, more polygons, more realistic 'looking' environments, but none have yet come close to the immersive feeling that Flashpoint gives.The whole world has a definite 'flavour' which all works together as if it is real. The trick is actually on your mind - it all simply 'feels' so right that your brain simply accepts it's real and lets you go.The end result for me has been that while walking in the real world countryside I'm frequently reminded of Flashpoint, and long for the freedom it offers to go over and stand right atop that hill I can see in the distance. (If you are geographically inclined you'll love the map and compass navigation opportunities Flashpoint offers)Part of the magic is Flashpoint's total freedom. Sure you could blast your way into that town, but you could wonder over to that mountain and explore another town. Or pop off to a previously invaded base to hop in a chopper and attack from the air. Or perhaps send your men to encircle the base and orchestrate an attack from a vantage point. Or perhaps you might just sit down and wait till night-time (after enjoying a beautiful sunset) and, using the real stars and moon to navigate, infiltrate silently under the cover of darkness.Nothing comes close to the realism of Flashpoint. After being thrown into the thick of it during the campaign (a seriously scary experience) you'll pretty soon realise that you have men under your command and damn you'll be gutted every time you loose one.

This is a game I bought in 2001 as part of a twin pack with Insane (driving game) and I was silly enough to think I wouldnt actually play flashpoint to begin with. Its now 2008 and its still my favourite game because no other game gives you as many options much this game.Totally brilliant, brilliant feel, great music, quality. Rated 90% by pc gamer, it should have been more like 95% I feel.

I played the first episode a long time ago and enjoyed it very much.I just bought this bundle and it has been a long time that I have enjoyed a game so much.The missions are usually long an difficult, and the fact that you can only save once per mission creates a very intense tension: you never know if an ennemy is not hiding near you just waiting to shoot.I played ArmaII but the missions are not so well designed as in this game.Of course, the graphics are somewhat outdated, but it does not hurt the gameplay.

this is the first military sim of the colection op flash and arma.whatever you do in a mission impacts the next : sory like and numeric as well.there one particular mission where you get stranded - I loved being behind the lines, had a field day instead of running.

Bought this for my husband as a present from one of the kids. He couldn't get it to load on his computer which was disappointing. To be fair, there was no issue with a prompt refund from the seller.

Same as Gold upgrade, well wrapped speedy delivery, works well on W7, SMASHING GAME.. I JUST LOVE IT AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT.

この作品(以下OFP)は本体(アメリカ編)と拡張パックが２つ(ロシア編とレジスタンス編)の公式発売品が全て入っているので値段的にもお得です私は10年ほど前の発売時期に店頭で偶然見かけ初めて買ったFPSですが今でも遊んでいるぐらいリアルで楽しいです良い所・広大なシームレスマップとにかくものすごい広いのにミッションと無関係な遠距離のエリアに移動してもちゃんと敵兵士が巡回していたり基地に見張りや戦車、ヘリが配置されたり飛行巡回をしていたりする・リアルさOFPは演出よりリアル重視をされていて派手な演出はありませんが逆にそれがリアルに感じます例えば手に怪我を負えば射撃の際に手ぶれが大きくなり攻撃を当てにくくなったり足に怪我が負えば立ち上がることが出来なくなり対戦車、対空兵器など担ぐ装備を使えなくなったりしますまたダッシュをし続けると息切れをして移動速度が落ちて手ぶれがひどく射撃の命中率が大幅に下がったりしますもちろん当たり所が悪ければ一発であっけなく即死など他のFPSに比べるとかなりの緊張感を感じられますミッションによっては仲間にmedicがいる場合や味方基地がある場合そこへ行けば応急処置をしてもらえます怪我は次のミッションに行く際直ります・キャンペーン最初は1兵士として参加しミッションが進むと分隊を任されさらに大きな作戦で小隊長としてミッションが出来る様になるまたキャンペーン中は主人公が分かれていてミッションが進むたびに陸戦、戦車、パイロット、特殊部隊の4人の別の主人公になってそれぞれのミッション別にこなす事になりますオリジナルミッションの作成が簡単他のゲームのミッション作成エディタに比べてもミッション作成がかなり簡単兵や戦車の配置や移動先でのルート巡回をさせムービーや台詞を導入などもクリックと条件選択などで出来ますそのためがユーザーMODの種類が豊富で自衛隊MODや単一ミッションが今でもかなり遊ぶ事が出来ます悪い所・グラフィックやはり10年前のゲームであり最近のFPSに比べるとどうしてもしょぼく感じてしまう・敵兵士の射撃能力狙撃兵でもないのに距離300前後で伏せていてもかなりの命中精度があったりする事・AIAIが少しお馬鹿で敵が正面にいるのに迂回しようと立ち上がったりするけどそこは個別指示で常時匍匐移動させたり出来るので大丈夫かなこの作品は無茶振りをしてくるミッションがあり難易度は結構高いので最近のFPSに飽きている人にお勧めしたいかな※だいぶ時期が経ってるので現在起動確認が出来ているOSを書いておきます(2016 4/17追記)win7以降は起動保障外ですが下記の私のPCでは問題なくインストール＆プレイが出来ていますwin7pro 64bit グラボGT560TIwin8.1 64bit　グラボGTX960PCでの相性的な物があるので購入前に事前に調べると良いと思います

届いた品物は商品ページとは違うもので、通常版のCWCしか入っていないディスクのみです。インストールしましたが、レッドハマーとレジスタンスはないようです。掲載している商品ページの写真と実物のパッケージが違います。品物が違うので星一つです。というか星ゼロですな。

今更購入してみましたがすごくおもしろいです。このOPFはリアル系FPSの最高峰です。グラフィックは完璧に時代遅れですが、内容はぎっしりつまっていて２００１年のゲームとは思えませんでした。ほとんどのFPSがカジュアル化していくなかで、このFPSをもう一度やりなおす必要があると思います。

CWCだけのGame of the Year Editionの物もあるようで、期待していただけにがっかりでした。レッドハマーは兎も角、レジスタンスと言う一番美味しい所が無いのは寂しいですね。* よく見るとGame of the Year Editionの表記はなく 「Game of the Month」で、写真に写っているレビュースコアが90％でなく89％の物でした。ブツ違うやんけ…がっかりもひとしおです。

Now that this game is several years old, it can reasonably be played on many laptops which is neat because the game has so many features and mods available.If you don't have a hotrod gaming machine that is good to go for modern sims, this still serves well and actually has better polish than Arma 2 campaigns.This is a pretty deep game that will devour many hours and days from your life in general. Combat is generally pretty rough and quickly decided, there are few if any drawn-out battles. Firearms aren't very realistic but that could be forgiven as the game itself is quite old.

This 1st person shooter makes a new era in this kind of games. Maybe not so graphically espectacular as Medal of Honor or similars, but with realistic ballistics and weapons.A single shot at 1000m can kill you and the weight of ammo and weapons is limited, so you can not behave as a Bradley tank as you do in MOHAA, for example.The enviroment is very big, with a tactical use of maps and obstacles, and there is not so much pleople as in other shooters.You can manage a wide range of infantry weapons, including RPG or LAW grenade launchers, guided AA and AT missiles, machine guns, and a wide range of vehicles, including M-60, M1A1, T-55, T72 tanks BMP or Bradley ATVs (nice realistics, but it is NOT a tank simulator), or helicopters (poorly realistic).As a complement ther are some cars and even a bus, useful for ambientation.This is not an arcade, is nearer a tactical trainer for an officer academy...It comes with 3 campaigns, the original one for Western forces, Resistance (Nice Anti-soviet Propaganda exercise) and Red Hammer (A really shame if you are not an US citizen).If you want to use this game as a soviet-eastern-block soldier, better make your own missions with the editor.The editor has 2modes, one simple an manageable and the otherreally comprehensive but difficult to manage.

This is another game I have not completed yet, just havn't had the time to really get into this one. It's an old game now, but still fun.

Over 10 years old game, still my favorite. Like playing it on line with friends. Many options and addons available on line

I like this game. it's pretty good. if your have a laptop try to get a mouse because useing the toutch pad reallt sucks when playing this game. overall good game

Looked like a good game,but it was hard to load. I have the newest and greatist gadgets on my computer and stillhad to mess with a lot of stuff. then when I finally got the game. Too much hype, I have seen better gamesat Half Price Bookstore for $5.00,then this one! Again too much hype,pass................

OPERATION FLASHPOINT WORKES VERY WELL ON WINDOWS VISTA. THE GRAPHICS ARE DATED ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE HUMAN FIGURES ARE GROSSLY DISTORTED.I WISH I HAD NOT BOUGHT THE GAME.
