Love it
I thought I'd try this before investing in one of the extremely pricey blenders & I'm happy that I did! I use this almost daily, primarily for green smoothies for the whole family. They come out perfectly smooth with no chunks of greens like I had with my standard blender that died on me. I also use it to purée, make soups, and pestos. It's compact, powerful, easy to clean, and everything comes out perfectly blended.

Frozen Smoothies, no problemo, failed 2yrs
Bought for my Son who makes at least one smoothie a day with frozen veggies in it. He loves it! Nice durable product, loud but effective! .......Update- unit failed two years of use, quite pricey for short life. Motor spins, blades no longer.

Just Okay
I use a VitaMix daily and it recently had to be sent back in for a recall on the blade (VitaMix handled that entire situation beautifully, by the way!). I cannot go a day without my vegetable/fruit smoothie so I decided to purchase this Waring blender as a high quality back-up blender while I waited for my VitaMix to get repaired and just in case I ever had to send the VitaMix away in the future. For $100, I expected a bit more from the Waring. The unit itself seems sturdy and well constructed and for the size of the pitcher the motor seems powerful enough. I think it just boils down to the difference between a $100 blender and a $500 blender. The consistency of the smoothies was a tiny bit chunky and icy - not the smooth creamy texture I am accustomed to from the VitaMix. I also didn't consider until after the fact that the stainless steel pitcher would be a problem for me personally. It was very cold to hold on to while mixing (duh - some of my ingredients are frozen, what did I expect!?). But beyond that, I am used to being able to see the blending in progress and I had to keep stopping to check on the contents. The VitaMix design includes a tamper which helps push food towards the blade and that concept is perfection but it is not a viable or safe method unless the unit is designed that way - and the Waring isn't. A final thought, the lid on the Waring is annoying as hell! The access "door" is bulky and is more of a pain in the rear than anything. Oh yeah - one more thing - cleaning it was a drag. Not that it was difficult, but I did have to take it apart and clean all of the components as opposed to just being able to rinse, add hot water and a drop of dish soap, blend, rinse and done (VitaMix :).

Stainless steel look goes with my kitchen perfectly! :)
I love my little bar blender, however I mostly use this for making smoothies and green drinks for my husband and I, on occasion we have margaritas. Cons: Too loud, leaves chunks(not all the time). Pros: very powerful, sleek looking, compact.

$105 price is no guarantee you'll get a good blender
The motor makes a loud screaming noise and has a burning smell that is sickening. Otherwise, it blends very good, is easy to take on and off the base (no twisting and locking- just set in place). Clean up is fast and simple. I'll never buy a stainless blender container again because you need to see what's going on. I tried it everyday for a month and finally got enough of the burning and screaming and had to return it.

A workhorse - but don't overload
I have been using my Waring 180S blender everyday for 7 months now and its still going strong. Initially it had a burning motor smell but its all gone. I blend completely frozen fruits and vegetables which are quite dense and the180S has no problems liquefying them. It is a bit noisy but it gets the job done. The jar is just the right size for me as I drink a full blender of fruit smoothie every morning. To wash, you just blend a half jar of water with a drop of dishwashing liquid. To blend completely frozen ingredients - add water and use LO then HI speed. This blender is way better than the nutribullet and is solidly built with a powerful motor.Update: After 9 months of daily use, the rubber coupling has apparently shredded. I was blending some frozen fruit (papaya) when I heard a strange noise and the blade has lost all power. I carried the blender to one of the Waring agents in my country and they will replace the coupling for US$14. Good thing, as I did not want to spend over a $100 for a new blender. I have to be more careful with dense frozen fruit. Now the cooling fan blade slipped off the shaft. I opened the blender and noticed that the fan blade is pressed onto the shaft and not bolted on. The center hole of the metal fan blade has been widened and it will not securely hold onto the shaft. I will have to attempt to spot weld the fan blade onto the shaft. They don't make products as durable as they once did, not even Waring. I am dissapointed, as the blender worked very well.I got the fan blade welded onto the motor shaft. Not too pretty but so far it holds well. You need to get the original Waring coupling (i got it online) as the imitation shreds easily.UPDATE: 1-JAN-2016: The blender is working strong after the coupling change and the shaft weld.

I so wanted to like this blender
After going through 4 blenders in the past 2 years, I so wanted to like this blender, especially based on the good reviews here at amazon. But upon one use, the blender proved itself to be lacking, if not a potential safety hazard. As noticed by a few other reviewers a burning smell was strongly noticeable when using the blender. Secondly, the noise level is definitely painful and probably requires protective ear wear - no exaggeration. Finally, the blend was sub par for apricot kernels in water. Even the cheapest of blenders from a particular box store, does this task with no problem. Those blenders just have a very limited life.Don't buy this blender. I am returning it as I write this.

So far...
This is the best blender I've owned. I destroyed my last one (KitchenAid) making morning smoothies, so the hubby purchased me this one. It is great. Actually blends and without that lovely burning motor smell. Very good for soups and sauces as well. It is a stainless canister therefore it doesn't hold into any residual flavors, colors, or smells.
