Functional and Reasonably Priced
This is a wonderful little device at a reasonable price. I use it to connect my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 to the ethernet at work and provide extra usb 3 connections. It works perfectly in both functions with no performance penalty that I can discern. Difficult to imagine a product that does what this does more efficiently and at a better price.

frustrating at best
It took so long to ship, that I thought the order had been cancelled due to a message in my account saying they were out of stock. Due to this message I ordered a new one, then a day later I was informed the original had shipped. Thinking it was the second one I ordered, I just waited for it to show up. I received both a day apart. On a side note, my friend ordered one the same time and his showed up quickly and without incident. So now I have 2, not a terrible thing until I attempted to use it. It is extremely touchy with network connections on my Mac, I had to adjust the connection speeds until it finally connected. I also discovered that if it is plugged in, my wireless connection fails to connect to anything. Finally, my friend is unable to plug his mouse into it and have it function more than 2 inches from the unit. I seriously wish I had not purchased this (at least not without an additional power supply) let alone 2 of them. I would avoid this vendor and this product.

Good performances and ethernet works fine
I bought it to replace the non-working docking station I had and to replace my old HTC usb2.0 hub.The device works perfectly.A small issue is the use with a Surface Pro 3 because the cable is so short that the usb port position which is so high.. put the hub to be floating in the air.

works, but causes interference
i bought one of these for my sony duo vaio ultrabook since it doesnt come with onboard ethernet. i bought this originally because of the small footprint and the "diamond" name. the ethernet works great, but my only problem with this device is that it seems to cause some interference with my logitech anywhere mouse. when i have my logitech usb dongle connected directly to the laptop's usb port and the diamond adapter in the other usb port, my mouse is occasionally erratic, it stutters, or stops partially and i have to lift it and move it closer to the dongle. it seems to be less erratic when the logitech usb dongle is connected to one of the usb ports on the adapter though. if i completely remove the adapter then the mouse behaves normally. so i think somehow this device is causing interference. i am going to have to live with it though, but its far from ideal.i'm tempted to buy the diamond docking station that is now being sold also, but what has held me back is the problem i am having with the erratic behavior of my wireless mouse. because ideally i still need something for the office for my dual monitors.but as for portability, this adapter still gets the job done as long as i am not too dependent on my mouse, which is ok in my case since i have a touchscreen win8 device. i can see how the interference wouldn't be noticeable on a mac also, since you can get by just using the mousepad.

Good performance, USB Hub port could be better.
Received goods in good condition, thumbs up for DHL great service, received less than expected delivery time as well.Review:Hardware:Laptop: Lenovo G400s (Windows 8.1)Switch: Cisco Gigabit switchServer: Just another high-end serverThe Good:Gigabit LAN works without any driver installation, plug-n-play.Works up to the advertised performance. The Bad:Stiff USB3 cable, but it does not really bother me too much.USB3 hub ports on the case is not aligned properly with the port, plugging in USB plug require a little effort.Tested with (All plugged in):- Gigabit LAN,- USB 3.0 pendrive (Team Extreme USB3 64GB)- USB 2.0 pendrive (Sandisk Cruzer 16GB)- USB 2.0 external hard disk (Seagate 320GB).Gigabit LAN sustained transfer speed (from laptop to server): 102 MB/sUSB3 pendrive max write speed: 26 MB/sUSB2 pendrive max write speed: 4.5 MB/sUSB2 external hard disk max write speed: 36 MB/sGreat performance, has no regret paying for its price.

Works perfectly on a 2013 MacBook Air
Works perfectly on 2013 MacBook Air with USB 3.0. No issues. Would highly recommend this device. It's small enough to fit nicely in a small backpack with the laptop.

Excellent
Can be used with Windows, Mac and even Linux and has been really reliable for me. I like that it is highly portable and have included it into my travel pack for my Macbook Pro.

invalid BOS descriptor?
Ethernet port doesn't work. Invalid BOS descriptor (whatever that is). Will update rating if they get back to me and resolve this. Otherwise, I'm sending it back.update:7-12-14Support is BAD. Their website says to give them 24-48 hours to respond: it's been 5 working days. I have left periodic messages asking for an update to no avail. My last post to their ticketing system said if I don't hear back today to know that they are at least working on it, I'm returning it as defective.
