Great Clean Boost for cutting through
I'm taking the time to review this pedal after reading a couple of the negative reviews seen here.I picked up the Boosta Grande a few years ago after being impressed by another guys lead tone at a local bar. I asked him what he was using for the boost and he showed me this pedal. I ordered one right away and it is my go-to boost. I normally play straight from a variety of guitars directly into either my Fender Deluxe Reverb RI or, if I'm feeling it and the room is small, a Marshall Class 5. I bring the Boosta Grande with the Fender if I think I might need it depending on the size of the room and I always bring it with the little Marshall. This pedal does not color the sound at all, it provides a very clean boost to both amps. With the Fender I usually turn it up to about half way and I dime it for the Marshall. Build Quality? I've been stomping on it for over two years now and it's still works as good as new. Just like how I discovered this pedal, I can't count the number of times guys have came up and asked me what I used for my boost. Great pedal.

Misleading
The boost pedal I received looks nothing like the one I ordered. I received an all white pedal when I thought I was getting the orange pedal with the bull logo. If you are selling a product online, make sure the product sent matches the product image and description. I had also expected a 9v ac cord. It didn't come with that but instead just a 9v battery. I just dont think I will be ordering gear from BBE Sound Inc. again.

Poorly made.
I'll go ahead and assume you already know what a clean boost pedal does, and I'll say that when it works this one is perfectly competent.Unfortunately, that doesn't matter much when it doesn't want to work. Took it out of the box, noticed right away that the volume knob doesn't travel properly. It hangs up in the middle six or so out of the entire range of ten. Then, I start playing around with it, and I notice that about every third time I hit the footswitch to disable it, my signal cuts out entirely. Uncool.I had read other reviews of this pedal, and seen a couple mentioning problems with the knob and footswitch (including one guy who tore it down and saw how cheap the switch is), but I decided to give it a try anyway. Thankfully, it failed right out of the box, so I can return it and get something else. This makes me sad, because like I said the actual effect was fine. I like the styling, I like larger pedals (many of the current-model clean boosts are in smaller packages), I wanted this thing to work for me. But back it goes. Unless you plan to spend your time trying to fix the internals of this thing at a later date (or allowing for several return trips to BBE, because at least they give you a five year warranty), I'd look elsewhere. I imagine if you replaced the switch and knob, it'd be a fine pedal. But I don't have the time or desire right now. Maybe I'll keep an eye out for a used one to do this to.Funny thing, to me, is that it comes with a power supply. Like, nobody else gives you a power supply with their pedals. Maybe they should consider leaving the wall wart out, and spend that extra bit on upgrading the components that people will actually handle/turn/stomp on.

My favorite booster
This is by far the best clean boost pedal I have EVER used.I am giving it four stars because of this... it's not actually a clean boost. I bought this believing that because that is what it is advertised as. While I am glad that I have this pedal, it needs to be understood that this pedal will add a bit of warmth/low-end to your sound.I saw other pedals that said did that and I avoided them, and when I demo'd them, I didn't like them very much. But this is very close to clean while pushing in just a little touch of low. I have no plans of ever replacing this booster.

Nah, get the MXR Micro Amp!
I've tried them all for under 100 clams and the BBE Boosta Grande is just not the one. First of all, it adds bass and muddles your high-end clarity. Not good. And it just sounded artificial to me. A very "transistor-y" character. It also doesn't pack as much gain as the Micro Amp. The MXR however, doesn't color your tone, it maintains your clarity and harmonics and adds a touch of compression so you just get more "punch"... more "crank". Just listen to Gilby Clarke. A Micro Amp set at about 2 o'clock in front of a VOX AC-30 or AC-15 and yahooooey!!! The Boosta Grande might work okay with acoustics or for clean PA purposes, I suppose. I wouldn't know, I'm more of a "vintage warmth" tube amp kind of player.

Review
This product works well. It makes your input sound louder. My bass has a good sound but low output, and without this, I have to turn the amp WAY up and get lots of static/hum in the process, which is not good. Luckily, this fixed the problem. Before, I was using a Bifet Preamp, which is very archaic, and sounds good, but cuts certain high frequencies in the process of boosting the volume. This product, on the other hand does NOTHING but boosts the volume of your sound before looping it into the amp, which is exactly what it should do. Also, it comes with a wall adaptor, so you don't have to waste batteries, like on the Bifet Preamp.Good product. The Bull looks stupid. "Boosta Grande!" is a stupid name for a pedal, but it works good.

Boosta Grande Boost Pedal
This pedal is simple and does what it says, by providing a clean boost when you need it. If you have a tone you are happy with and just want a little extra volume for lead work and volume increase for intense passages, you won't find a better deal than this. I got mine for $60 and compared to other boost pedals out there, this was a steal.
