Take a breath and count to 10 when installing, then enjoy the look and feel of unit.
What the above reviewer two down from me stated is moot if you have the standard J-Frame. The instructions say to work from the trigger guard to the front portion flush with the barrel (3 screw areas). After a bit frustration, I found the opposite to be true. It is best to work from the front of the gun to the trigger guard putting pressure back toward the guard at the same time you're securing the first screw. It looks great on and I am yet to test it out. Very easy laser adjustments. Once the unit is on for a while, I believe the plastic should mold better into place. When doing a test with flicking the cylinder back into position, it caught a bit, but again, that should also should break in with time.I love my classic SW Holster, but, alas, the revolver no longer fits and I'll have to figure out another option for carry.

You need to have the right holster
Great laser at a good price. But the on off switch is easily accidentally turned on killing the batteries.Your holster needs to be firm enough that it does not turn on the laser.Murphy's Laws 'Everything will fail when you need it most.' So practice shooting without your laser!!

Easy to install
I read all the one star ratings on this unit and there were several complaints about difficulty of installation. After getting the gun, laser site, and mini screwdrivers out on the table it took 45 seconds to install it. Because I wasn't wearing my readers, I grabbed a flathead screwdriver first and had to change to a Phillips head. I didn't even read the instructions. I haven't taken it to the range to sight it in but it seems well built and I don't foresee any problems.

Love the idea
Love the idea. Love the look. But I was unable to make it fit my J-frame without modification so I chose to return it. I bought 2 actually. The 1st I returned because I thought it might be a poorly manufactured defect. I returned the 2nd when even my gunsmith was unable to fit it up correctly. The issue was the trigger-guard. I just couldn't make it fit the channel in the sight correctly. My 442 is about 15 years old, but I shouldn't think the trigger-guard configuration changed in subsequent years. I'm going to explore other types of laser sights made by Crimson Trace for a better fit.

Minor modification needed to allow the unit to fit snug but afer that all is well . The fit is not the quality of crimson trace, but you get what you pay for . I guess that was the problem I had with the previous red lased I purchased from you. it did not fit .

Laser Fit
Had some problems lining the 2 halves up. Was not sure because the parts didn't seem to fit radius of finger guard. With great care I installed screws and slowly tightened. Parts fit ok.

Three Stars
For as much as you pay for it you would not expect it to have scratches on it.
