Update: This medallion will NOT work with our new ceiling fan! We even cut the hole bigger. Oops, too big. We have ruined the medallion. No way to repair it. Even if the hole had been perfect, this medallion would not have looked right as the center raises up. In a flash, I ordered several more medallions hoping one would fit the fan. Nope. Not a single one was compatible. Company will be arriving tomorrow and I have bare wires sticking out of my ceiling. It would help if medallions were cut in half and the cross section was pictured online with dimensions. It would have helped us narrow our choices to a medallion that would fit our fixture.I am not very happy right now.This is a nice product. But, if your fixture isn't compatible, it is worthless.Original review: This is not a thin or shallow medallion. I will be using it with a ceiling fan. I have been impressed with all the Focal Point products I have purchased. They are high quality compared so some other brands.I painted it using Valspar paint from Lowe's. I brushed the paint on. I was very careful. Still some brush marks show. Spraying might be a better option, but I don't have a paint sprayer.

this medallion is a great size made of great material and is simple enough to work aesthetically in a non historic location. we needed to move the existing fixture location to center over the table, the medallion worked out great to cover the original hole in the ceiling. i plan on ordering two more for different locations within our new home.

Good size, excellent quality, and very easy to install since it come with the ceiling markers. Comes primed to paint but instead of painting I used a semi gloss clear coat spray to give it a nice finished.

We had to get creative with mounting this medallion with the type of mounting plate we had, but it worked and looks fabulous! I love how it is so sophisticated yet simple. I haven't painted my ceiling or the medallion yet, but I think it looks pretty good even without!

Wonderful quality. I didn't even need to paint it. The primed white matched my trim and it looks great. Make sure to buy the cement to adhere it to the ceiling. It has 2 screw areas that you will use but it is better to cement it as well. It will change the length of some light fixture bolts that attach it to the ceiling. I called the manufacture of my chandelier and they sent me a longer bolt so it would work with the ceiling medallion.

This is well made and beautiful, my expectation is real high yet this item didn't disappoint in any way, I don't give good reports to make someone feel good, I do it for serious customers that need the info from a real customer.

Didn't know how the hole around a new electrical box could ever be repaired. Thought of hiding it in plain sight with a medallion, but most I saw seemed intended for a Victorian restoration and wouldn't work in my mid-century house. This medallion does more than hide a hole, it dressed up the new light. I painted it to match the ceiling and couldn't be happier with the finished product. Installation was easy and I liked that no adhesives were needed. Once the mounting screws are tweaked to just the right length the medallion hugs the ceiling nice and tight.

I like it a lot. It adds elegance to the ceiling fan. Some feedback however is that the material is a little flimsy and cracks easily. Also, it would be nice to include longer screws since the place where you adhere to ceiling is not flash. Or include glue patches. Otherwise it looks beautiful.

It's a 4" opening. There are cheaper 4" canopy medallions out there; I would have purchased them if that's what I needed. Now the process of returning begins. Disappointed and irritated.
