Very effective and sized large enough for automatic feeder
This tray works really well and keeps the ants at bay. Has 4 legs that are surrounded by a gel (like vaseline) to keep ants from getting up on the tray. I was having tons of ants attack my cat's food and this has stopped them in their tracks. You can try to wage war against all the ants in your house with poison (and still lose) or you can get one of these for each cat or dog bowl. I have 2 and they are lifesavers, especially during warm weather when ants take over my kitchen. One of the best pet items I have ever purchased. No moving parts, unobtrusive, easy to clean, and does exactly what it is designed to do!

WE HAVE A WINNER!
* BUG SNUB Ant Proof Tray - Waterless, Moat Free Cat and Dog Food Tray for Crawling Pest Free Pet Food Feeding Station * My apartment has been invaded by really small, black ants over the last week. I've sprayed for them. Maintenance has sprayed for them. If there's a morsel of food on the floor, there is a cluster (100s) of them on it in a few hours. I found this BUG SNUB tray on Amazon with same day delivery and installed (simple) it yesterday evening. I fed the furball who never eats ALL her food and waited... no ants. Yesterday morning there were hundreds swarming all over it. This morning... ZERO ants! I'm truly amazed how well this device works. Its construction is VERY solid with high-quality components. It doesn't slide around and assembly instructions make it easy to put together. The repellent comes in 4 packages, one for each leg, are stated to last a year and are available on Amazon. No... it's not cheap, but for what you get it's worth twice the price and I'd say it's a great value for the money as I can leave food in the bowl 24/7. Highly recommend. 60-DAY UPDATE, 9/03/25: Everything is still as stated above. The only ants I've seen are the 4-5 that got stuck in the repellent before the rest of the colony moved their food search elsewhere. This device is simply A-W-E-S-O-M-E .

works! keeps ants out! keeps food area contained!
perfect for cats who may also spill some food outside their dish, it goes into the tray, so you just don't get ants at all! the goo it comes with to protect the feet-shafts is i think just vaseline.

Ant free cat food at last!
It works! Keeps ants out of the cats food with having to use a bowl inside a bowl of water. Fits my cats automatic feeder perfectly and raises it to a more comfortable height for my cats. The lip on the edge keeps the food fallout contained and not scattered around the floor. I wish they had a larger size so I could fit both the automatic feeder and water fountain on it, not a huge deal I can get a 2nd one.

Worked 1000 % I would give it more stars if I could
1000 works!! I tried everything but this is truly a win. My cat’s nibbles throughout the day and eats also her wet food in a couple of times. Moved to a place full of ants and it was a nightmare my cat stopped eating because her bowl was full of ants. This so far works perfectly no ants!!! Looking for the name of the product that pushed these ants now cause it is very effective

Seems to have halted the ant invasion
Springtime in our area (and probably for many people) is when those ant suckers literally seem to come out of the woodwork no matter how much you try to clean things up. We have cats that are quite messy eaters such that their bowls were attracting ants. We tried moving bowls around, keeping the area clean, but the ants just kept coming; I was having to put the cats' bowls up/down rather than leaving them for free feeding, which the kitties did NOT like and was becoming a hassle. I think I searched "cat bowl/dish for ants" and happened upon this product. I saw some reviews that the gel (applied to the tray's feet) is very sticky, my husband helped me assemble it and used a paintbrush to apply it. He mentioned some still got on his hand and did feel extremely greasy, so using a paintbrush or gloves when applying the gel seems advisable. The tray seemed larger in photos to me than how it looked in person, but the tray is still large enough for me to put two water dishes in the back and two medium-ish food dishes in the front. My cats were not perturbed by the tray at all and are feeding/drinking normally. To test it more accurately, I kept the tray in the same spot where I had the dishes before in our back room. I make sure to check the floor for stray food bits---they still manage to fling food around---as that will still attract ants. However, since the start of using this tray, I have not seen any more ants climbing around their dishes/in their food. The product is perhaps a little pricey for what it is---it's all plastic construction---however it is worth the money to me as I am not battling ants daily like before. My cats normally prefer their food/water dishes in our bedroom; now that I have tested the tray in our back room for about a week or so, I will move the tray back to the bedroom and will try to write an update. UPDATE: The tray is back in the bedroom where the cats prefer it the most: they like to graze at night. The lack of the food there was making my cats hungry (too lazy to walk to the back room) and waking me up really early. The area still seems ant-free, and I am now able to sleep better lol.

Used for over a year
I've used this for over a year now for my small compost bin. We had a crazy swarm of ants go for it before we bought this and once it was set up, the situation did a complete 180. As long as you make sure the tray isn't touching a wall that ants can climb on to, it keeps the ants from getting to the bin. We use it for the type of trashcan that you step on the pedal to open the lid and this tray holds up to us stepping on it daily. It does not show signs of breaking. 1 star was removed because a few very determined ants did army crawl through the paste during the first week, but honestly it hasn't happened since. I'd still buy it again.

No regrets
I was shocked that it that it worked. I figured it would be a cheap piece of junk like a lot of things that you buy online but it's not-it works great. I have not seen one ant since I started using it.
