great product
Recently received and have used them a great deal. Love them. Nice and bright, holds a battery charge a respectable!Let amount of time and recharges quickly. Reasons for buying included rechargeable, bright led's and metal clip. A design suggestion-make it contoured to the bill of a cap. Otherwise, great product.

The last cap light you'll need
I've got two of these. They work great. Very bright with a long battery life, and they are rechargable with the provided USB cable.UPDATE: I purchased two more. Two of the LEDs on one of the cap lights burned out after 10 months. I sent a message to the vendor via Amazon and they replaced it. Told me to keep the old one. Great service.

(Formerly) best caplights, repeat buyer (but maybe no longer)
EDIT: I have come back to edit this, because I am disappointed. I bought this new Iprotec to replace one I thought I lost. I found that one a day after the new one arrived; it had been sitting out in the wet and cold snow for 4 days and it was raining all night and day before I found it. It works fine still. I was happy with the new one at first because it seemed brighter and has less of a blue tint, BUT I noticed one of the LEDs flickering after a week or so. Then I wore it last night out walking in some wet snow. It didn't even get that wet, just kind o moderately wet all over the outside. When I got home the lights are all strobing and flickering like crazy, and they haven't stopped yet. I had hoped it would at least get better when it dried out. So the older one (which I've worn out the the rain frequently) still works perfectly, not a flicker or missing light after several years. The new one has failed after a single time of getting a little bit wet. Not happy. I hate to take all the stars away because in design they are great, but they've obviously changed suppliers or otherwise cheapened the production, and it shows. I was worried about that after reading the other reviews, and I am very disappointed to see their complaints verified. If i knew a way to be sure I was buying an older production model, I would not hesitate (in fact I'd stock up). But not being sure, I'm not certain I'll ever buy another one.I've bought 3 of these now. None of them have broken or failed me, never had to change a battery. I just keep loosing them. I always buy a spare so I'll have a reserve when I loose the previous one. I thought I'd lost my last one, and bought another, but then I found it again. Sitting in the snow for three days, rained on for hours. Still works fine. Never a problem, so I don't know what these other people are talking about. I suspect that people who got a random bad product are more likely to show up to give bad reviews than people who got a normal good one are to come write good reviews, so it skews the results. I will keep an eye out, because maybe they did change the supplier, or some components. On comparing the new one with the old one (I never did find the very first one that vanished) I notice that the newer one has more yellower light, not as blue-LED color as the old one. A welcome change, if it doesn't also mean poorer quality or workmanship. I generally dislike those blue tinted LED-type lights, so I'm glad they've improved that. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't compared the two. I also noticed that the new one seems noticably brighter, even when both register full charge. Not sure if the new LEDs are brighter, or the old ones battery is getting weak. Probably the former.Although I dislike blue tinted LEDs, this light more than made up for it in being compact, simple, rechargeable, long lasting. Some people complain that it's not shaped to fit the cap, but that's a bonus. First, it doesn't matter and doesn't make it less noticeable. Second, the lense is slightly angled away from the clip. I've found that if I'm out walking on a road of path and I want the light to cast further away, I clip it ABOVE by brim. If I want the light to cast right in front of me, I clip it BELOW the brim. I couldn't do this if it was curved to fit, and to me this is one of the most useful features. Nothing more annoying than trying to aim a caplight at something to far away or too close; you've got to tip the brim down until it's over your eyes, or tip the hat way op to the back of your head, or hold your nose up and try to look down with your eyes....nope. With this you can set it how you want, and you don't need no weak-link hinges or anything. The clip is secure, the casing is soft-rubbery-coated plastic, feels quality, the thing is relatively water resistant. The high and low settings are useful, to save battery life. The button lights up red when charging, green when charged. Overall it's a very compact, unobtrusive caplight. Most of them look and feel a lot larger and heavier, but this works as well or better than most. Its small size means I frequently forget I'm even wearing it until I'm walking around in public. It's also rechargeable (comes with short micro-USB cable, same as the typical cell phone charger...NOT an iphone charger though...but can easily be charged from a car charger, a laptop, or a cellphone wall charger (if you don't have a laptop with a USB port or a car charger you'll need your own charger base, easy to find and cheap). The rechargeable part is probably the best part for me, and i frequently use it just as an everyday flashlight, because the batteries don't run out and need to be replaced. Only thing I'd like to see is the on-off button put on the side, or protected better. If you stick it in a pocket, it's very easy to bump something and accidentally turn it on. So I clip it on the outside of my pocket, which works great, but is easy to loose that way. I am always almost loosing it. Luckily I have only actually lost one so far, but I've THOUGHT I lost it plenty of times, and had to go back and find it in the truck, or wherever it fell off or was knocked off. But I guess that's not using it as designed, and when it's being used as a cap light the switch is perfectly positioned and easy to manipulate with either hand...just squeeze the light between thumb and fingers once for bright light, again for dim light, and a third time for Off.I see some suggesting a red light, but that would be annoying to cycle through all the time when using it. If they could install that with a separate switch, that'd be good. Or just make a special model for night fishermen, with a single red LED in the center that comes on as a third option. I don't care myself.

Lightweight, USB rechargeable, battery life is good, 2 light intensities.
After looking for a hat light with rechargeable batteries in several sites I decided to buy this iProtec device. Is simple, easy to recharge with 2 leds color, red is charging, green is full charged. I recommend this device you can use at work, hobby, camping, etc.

Don't waste your money
I bought 5 of these lights for Christmas presents, I ordered them the beginning of December. 3 of the lights went bad within the time you can file a claim for a return. The other 2 started having issues right after the refund deadline. I was able to get a full refund on 3 of the 5, but unfortunately am out the other 2 lights. It was a great light for an hour.....then the won't light up...

Went downhill
I've had 5 of these lights, the first 3 was spectacular. Tho I lost one of them after not long. But I've ordered two in the last few months and both of them have been crap. After I charge it a couple times only like 3 of the 5 little bulbs work and it flickers. Disappointed cuz I loved these lights at first

Buy a few. Give the extras as gifts. Awesome hat lamp.
I wear mine all the time. awesome for my work, even better for fishing. Dropped it in the water a couple weeks ago while running trotlines and discovered that they do float. Picked it up after a quick temper tantrum and it hasn't as much as hiccupped. Great product

greatest light fo night fishing
greatest light I have ever used for nite fishing. Only have to charge it a couple of times a season. The only feature I wish it had ,is on one of the two light settings one was a red light, it would help keep the bugs out of your face while tying on another lure or hook .
