BMW 3 Series (E30) Service Manual: 1984-1990

This is the best manual, hands-down! I have been using my paperback version for over 10 years, and it always has the information I need. I recently did a complete engine rebuild, and this manual walked me through everything I needed to know. I is a must for any serious projects, and my 1989 325i would not be in perfect condition without this book. I was thrilled to find a hardcover to replace my well-used paperback. I can't recommend this book enough, it's an essential part of my toolbox.

This book of course is a must have for E30’s . Yes as a repair manual and as a collection . It gives you every single detail for any replacement or repair . It’s a very good manual . The problem I had is the shipping, Amazon damaged the book which is a BIG NO because I’m paying for a brand new book not a damaged book. If it was a damaged book for sale then price it as so . I will try to get a replacement hopefully it won’t be damaged . As for a product wise I fully recommend this manual . It’ll make repairs a lot more easier .

Very detailed descriptions and thorough troubleshooting suggestions. This is definitely a must have if you own an e30. I hesitated to buy at first because the price is a little higher than I wanted to pay but now that I have it I feel I should have bought it a long time ago. This would have saved me time and frustration if I had bought it sooner.

Son is rebuilding BMW and this book is exactly what he needed.

I just started with my new to me '87 325, but so far this has all the info I've been looking for. Worth the money and so far easier to use and more complete than the Chilton's manual the previous owner gave me with the car.If you have an E30, you definitely need one of these!

After looking through this book and doing a few repairs, I have come to the conclusion that it is pretty good but, could be better. Here are my issues:-pictures are black and white and sometimes hard to know what you're looking at;-it doesn't include the 325ix-instructions were written a long time ago meaning that common problems that happen to e30s after two decades of wear and tear are not talked about much. If you have some weird issues, check internet forums, chances are its a common problem a million others have seen. (stuck on wheels, window relay, etc)but all in all its a big help with lots of problems so its worth the money.

I bought this for my 320 and so far I haven't found any issues with the book lacking knowledge for this engine.It is worth the price and is much better than the Haynes in my opinion.My only complaint is that it is written not long after the car was released rather than "now" so does not have such a retrospective view on faults that are common knowledge here and now like some of the most recent haynes's.Strongly recommend for every owner, if only as a companion to the somewhat sparse owners manual.

Well organised, very well explained with lots of actual photos and drawings helps even the novice home mechanic carry out most tasks.

A good publication but written for American specification cars so not always applicable to UK models and, more importantly, UK model specification models are not always catered for.

A must for any home BMW E30 work
