Bluebonnet has the best lysine I've taken. I've tried so many brands over the years and this one is top notch. I had switched to a powder version that was supposed to be pure but it was not helpful and caused stomach pain. Solgar was my go-to brand for a long time but since trying Bluebonnet, I have found my new favorite. It is great for the skin and other stuff. Even Bluebonnet's zinc is the only one I can tolerate.

I love these. They're not quite as good a value as the NOW brand, but if you take two a day for coldsore prevention like I do, this bottle will last you about a month and a half.Where Blue Bonnet really shines, though, is the capsules contain a very fine powder. A lot of these lysine supplements have hard little ball things that don't easily make a paste. But this brand does! And one capsule should last you ten or more applications since you don't need nearly as much as with other brands.

I started taking this because I went through a period of time when allergies were causing me to have cold sore type blisters all over my mouth for weeks on end. I had L-lysine recommended to help alleviate this problem. I started and I haven't looked back. This has been an enormous help. Not only does it help prevent cold sores from happening, it helps me to feel the little tingle on my lip when one may be coming on so I can use some medicated balm to prevent the onset of one.

First, be advised L-Lysine is a power anti-viral supplement; this explains why I keep it in my cabinet at all times. As a university professor, I encounter many students, colleagues, staff, and people in general, during the average workday. During the recent pandemic, even though my workday transitioned from on campus to virtual, I increased my dose to boost immunity. I also sent L-Lysine to my 2 kids who have been enrolled in university out of town and have held jobs which kept them in (social distance) reach of the general public. I made my husband take his daily dose as well. We are blessed with excellent health on most days. Kids are in their early 20’s; we are mid 50’s. Side note: This brand is gluten-free. Extra bonus for some; necessity for me and one of my children.
