Price, whose 65 year career ended with his death in December 2013 aged 87, was one of Country Musics last links to the days of Hank Williams and 78 RPM records. Prices wide-ranging baritone was regarded as one of the best male voices in Country Music. Known as 'The Cherokee Cowboy', Ray Price had 109 Country Chart hits between 1952 and 1989, two of which, 'Willie, Write Me A Song' and 'Scotch And Soda' are included here. Porter Wagoner, known as 'The Thin Man From West Plains', had a very successful recording career but is also famous for introducing the world to Dolly Parton via his long-running US TV show. Dolly wrote... 'I Will Always Love You' about Porter when she left the TV show to go solo. Porter Wagoner had 81 Country Chart hits between 1954 and 1981. His final hit single This Cowboys Hat is included here. Porter died in 2007, aged 80. Both albums appear on CD for the first time and date from 1983, originally released on producer Snuff Garretts Viva label.
