After reading all the good reviews, I didn't think I could go wrong purchasing this product. But I was mistaken.The product arrived on time, but since my current battery seemed to be functioning ok, I didn't install the new Egoway battery until about 2 months later. No instructions or contact/support info was included in the package, so I went on youtube and found a video to guide me. No big deal. Once the battery was in, I started having all kinds of problems with my computer shutting down or going to sleep randomly, even after what seemed to be a full charge. I went back to the amazon page with the item looking for the customer support contact info, which was advertised as 24/7. I couldn't find that info anywhere. Did a google search and couldn't even find a web page for Egoway. Finally, I reached out to Amazon and was given an email address. I emailed twice in two weeks and never received a response.Frustrated over losing so much work time from constantly having to start my computer and losing unsaved work, I took my computer to an authorized mac repair business where they told me that the battery was difficult to install and hadn't been installed properly. So, I had to pay for them to fix the installation when I probably could have done it myself had I just been able to get some kind of tech support from the company.Now that the battery is in properly, I'm disappointed to find out that the battery only lasts about an hour before I have to charge. I absolutely would not recommend this product.

The battery performs as expected, but one thing I've noticed that will probably shorten the lifespan of this battery compared to what it could be is that the battery will do recharges back to 100% from 97-98-99% (say if I'd packed up my MBP and went home), whereas the original battery's firmware would wait until the charge had depleted further until doing the charge back to 100% to help prolong the battery lifespan.That being said, this should not stop you from buying this replacement battery.It gave me the expected like-new battery performance and the full charge capacity mAh in the system report hasn't decayed at all in the month I've been using it. If it seems like the battery is performing better or worse down the line, I'll update this review/rating.--> Other tip: If your trackpad won't depress normally, it might be a swollen battery that needs replacing.

The service from Amazon and Egoway was excellent, but there is a minor problem with the battery that is unlikely to be resolved (I'm located halfway around the world, and the shipping costs exceed the value of the battery).The battery works fine - charges, discharges, calibrates, tops up, holds great charge over 5+ continuous hours of use, but there's an issue with something in the intelligence inside the battery, because the computers (I've tried it in two MBPs) both say 'Replace Battery' and refuse to shift from that judgement.If I was in the US, it would be worth raising the issue, but I'm not, and that is not Agway's or Amazon's fault.The battery is great, but thoroughly test and check it after installation - any status less than Healthy needs to be chased up.

The reason this battery lost two stars out of five. It would have been nice if they would have included a tab on the battery connector like on the original mac battery. It's a tight fit and the tab would have helped pushing it in and indicating which side is up. The battery came with two screwdrivers. The phillips is completely useless and will not fit the screws to the Macbook cover. I guess that's reasonable.

This replacement battery is being used in a mid-2009 17-inch MacBook Pro (Model A1297), 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8GB RAM. The battery replacement was perhaps the easiest electronic repair I have ever undertaken--A PERFECT fit with zero surprises! It arrived with a 72 percent charge, and I am charging it to full as I type this.Included with the battery were three screwdrivers (even though the product photo shows only two): a Phillips #00 for removing the bottom cover, a Y1 Tri-wing for removing the battery, and a small torx screwdriver (which I didn't need).The original 5-year-old battery was good for about 2 hours--with light use. It had also swollen a bit, which prevented the use of the left side of the built-in trackpad. The trackpad works like new again.So far, couldn't be happier!

I've had this battery installed in my 17" MacBook Pro 6,1 for about a month now and I am very pleased with it. Easy to swap out with the factory unit. After completing the recommended calibration, I'm getting 5.5-7 hours of off-charge battery life, running internet browser and word processor applications. I have yet to experience the battery expansion/trackpad issues that have been mentioned. 16 cycles later, I am still getting virtually the same readings as I did the day after I installed it (Charge remaining (mAh): 12908; Full charge capacity (mAh): 12908; Amperage (mA): 281; Voltage (mV): 8363). At $50, this is definitely a fix that I would recommend for anyone experiencing battery issues. TIP: keep an eye on your battery life cycles. They can add up if you're not monitoring them.

Battery was well packaged and delivered quickly. It is a perfect fit, but power is far less than expected. Battery only lasts 3-4 hours before needing recharged, about half of the original battery. Update: After 2 weeks of use, battery now only lasts 1.5-2 hours between charges with normal use (surfing the web, but no video).5/25 Update: Battery now only lasts 1 hour on a full charge. I contacted EGOWAY and they are sending a replacement (5 stars for customer service so far). I will report back when the new battery arrives
