I was all set to give this a four star review. Better than average. But the more I heard the more I enjoyed it. A baroque oratorio in form, but classical in vocal styling. None of the soloists jump out at me as being awesome, but they're at least decent. I've owned and enjoyed a few other recordings by the Athestis Chorus and Bressan on Chandos, namely a Marcello opera and requiem and a Galuppi mass, which are also excellent.
