Q: Is this item translucent? Will it bleed light if placed in front of a window?

Yes, the light would bleed through, but you can hang something over the window to darken the window. This looks awesome up amid I have gotten many of compliments in it. I hung it as a wall covering and it is very cool

Q: Is this thin or does it have a thick /fabric texture to it?

It is not a fabric, it is more like the texture of heavy contact paper, but it doesn’t have glue on it.

Q: When ironed, did you do low heat or steam as it says? Does it peal the color?

I kept turning up the heat bit by bit to test it until it started to warp a bit. Then I just pulled it tight and ironed the wavy part of where it got too hot. Did not affect the color in the spot I had heat to high.

Q: How do you iron it to smooth out wrinkles?

I didn’t try to iron it. I used this material to cover the side of a “boat” I made in my classroom and I was able to smooth it out with my hand as I glued it to a large plastic cut out of a ship.It was perfect for my purpose.
