Sharp so far, after testing on a range of materials
We have plenty of scissors, but they always seem to go walkabout when you want them, so having another pair is very welcome. I have used them for a range of purposes, mostly crafting.I recently wanted to cut out some movement templates for the car racing game Gaslands, which I thought would be a good chance to put the scissors through their paces cutting a range of curves (see the picture to get an idea of what I’m talking about). They did a good job cutting through paper, though I suppose that’s a pretty minimal expectation for a pair of scissors.I then tried doing the same in corrugated card. The scissors couldn’t handle everything there, so I had to switch to a craft knife for some of the cuts, but that’s not a particular fault of these scissors, it’s simply that they’re not the right tool for the job. They cut through the cardboard without difficulty. I’ve also used them on other materials, including two kinds of foam (eva craft foam and a more spongy type). So far, they’ve been fine on every material that I’ve tried them on.I have to say that this isn’t particularly surprising, as they’re still pretty new, so I’d expect the blades to be sharp. I would expect the blades to dull a little over time, but depending on use this would probably take years, so I can’t comment on that. Nor can I vouch for how comfortable they would be for a left-handed person, since I’m right-handed.Overall, I’m fully satisfied, but I don’t find them particularly remarkable. It is possible to buy a decent pair of scissors for about a third of the price. Perhaps these will prove more durable, but it’s far too early to say for sure.

Premium Product - Superb in Use
Getting these to review was a bit of a Godsend because I 'borrowed' my wife's pair of kitchen scissors for an essential garage job and kind of converted them into an engineering tool never to be able to be used anywhere clean again. And just as I did so these rocked up for me to present them to She Who Must Be Obeyed as a wonderful new replacement for the old rubbish ones.Build quality is simply superb and they are properly sharp in use. And that might be an issue in some ways because being really sharp means that the slightest dulling is instantly noticed which, isn't normally a problem with stainless or HSS blades. However, being titanium I'm not sure how sharpening them again is going to go. My wetstones might not 'cut it.'Anyway, the upside of being titanium is that they are light and the edge will last a long time so maybe in normal household use they will never need honing again.Fit is great in the hand and I never noticed that these were ambidextrous. I'm a righty, so is my wife but neither of us noted that these are for both left and right handed people. I assume therefore that a left handed person would find these as comfortable to use as a right handed one. When used they leave a crisp clean edge and require minimal shearing force in use. Easy on those who don't have the grip of a gorilla.Design is clean and the feel is tactile in hand. Ideal for an office of course.Cost. Well if you are punting out your own money the fact is that whilst not eye watering they are not cheap either when compared to unbranded knock offs. You might want to consider where you leave them if in a publically accessed place because sure as eggs are eggs someone will notice how nice they are...So, a premium product that is well worth the outlay and of course saves you from the wrath of the wife if you nick her nice clean kitchen ones. Ahem.

A cut above the rest...
Scissors... Ubiquitous long established tools for office, home and school. Especially school if you're a teacher (my wife). The Leitz Titanium are advertised as right or left handed, ergonomic handles, blue (in this case), with stay longer sharp blades and non-stick coating for cutting adhesive backed materials and tape.To begin with I can confirm they are blue - available also in red and black - and look very smart (if that matters to you!) They are very comfortable to hold and use - and are fine for both left handed (trialled by our daughter) and right handed use (everyone else in the family). They are also excellent for their primary purpose - cutting - providing consistent neat clean cuts.Of course new scissors should perform well - it's their use over time which will really tell. That said these look and feel like a high quality product and with a 10 year warranty, adjustable screw for maintaining cutting performance I think they will last the test of time.In summary - an excellent pair of scissors - comfortable to use right or left handed - providing clean confident cutting.

I didn't even realise that I needed these until I tried them
These Lietz Titanium Scissors actually do work equally as well left or right handed which made me realise that, being left-handed, I have previously struggled somewhat when using standard scissors. The soft-grip handles make them comfortable to use even when cutting through tougher materials such as corrugated card and even polypropylene packaging whilst the non-slip nature of the blades makes one-handed cutting of paper a cinch. However, I would mention that the handles are probably not made for people with large hands. These seem like a sturdy pair of scissors that cut nice and smoothly right up to the tips of the blades. The non-stick coating on the blades works a treat when cutting various adhesive tapes and the adjustable screw for tightening the blades is a great idea as usually, once a pair of scissors has been in use for a little while, they tend to loosen up to the point where a cut is no longer achievable in one smooth, positive action.Until I had used these I didn't quite appreciate just how much I needed a pair of left-handed scissors.
