HORRIBLE Kindle Edition
I am in the middle of reading this book — I absolutely adore it. It is incredibly fascinating, and I love Campbell’s linguistic flourish. But man, this Kindle edition is horrific. So many typos, roughly one per page. I’ve been powering through because they haven’t affected my comprehension until now. I just got to a page where a sentence begins with “The Sumerians” and there is nothing following that! It just jumps to the next paragraph! The Sumerians WHAT? What about the Sumerians? I’d quite like to know. Absolutely atrocious. I’ve literally stopped taking the time to report content errors because there are so many.

Wins award for most poorly proofed digital text ever. :-(
This is my fourth time reading this book. I bought a new Kindle version as my paperback copy is literally falling apart at the binding. Joseph Campbell's text is astounding and highly important to anyone seeking an understanding of myth, it's origins, and it's purpose on all levels, psychological, spiritual, and even on an everyday, personal level.Unfortunately, whoever was tasked with the care of taking the time to properly proof the text for punctuation and (especially) spelling errors did a seriously poor job of it. On some pages I found more than 3 individual spelling or typographical errors. Some of the errors, even more unfortunately, occurred in crucial passages where the meaning of the line is obscured or made unintelligible by the error. It would be nice if someone would go through and fix all of these errors. If they paid me to do it, I'd be glad to undertake the task. I will definitely not purchase the Kindle editions of the other three volumes unless someone can assure me that they have been more adequately edited.

The Editor's should be VERY embarrassed
I have admired Joseph Campbell's work for many years. However the editors must have been in a huge hurry to publish this ebook because I have NEVER read a book with so many typographical errors....numerous errors on each page! It reads like the editor, or whoever was responsible for the publication text in this book, did NOT have a rudimentary understanding of the English language. It was terribly distracting.

Scanned but not well edited
I have both the printed and the kindle version. Both present Campbell's content, but the kindle version is very poorly edited. Obviously scanned from the printed text, the kindle version appears to have had little subsequent review. It is readable, but VERY frustrating. These are classic texts; PLEASE take the time to provide a reading experience that does not distract from the content.

Brilliant
Wow! I can only say that this author is a genius. A lot of deep research went into this series of books. Very enjoyable and informative read, but be prepared for in-depth analysis of this subject.

Very poor formatting
I am sure this is as great as Campbell's books always are but my kindle paperwhite and kindle fire scrambled the formatting.

The Masks of God (uncovered)
'An excellent book, a must read for anyone interested in human origins, anthropology, archaeology and mythology. The Masks of God (Primitive Mythology) take you from the particular to the general and back again.
