Freddie .......From the Heart
"Freddie Mercury: His Life in his Own Words" is probably the most accurate and humerous account of his life ever written. The book is compiled almost totally from interviews he gave during his 20 year career, so there won't be much that's new or uknown to his more ardent fans, but that did not detract from the book's appeal for me. I found it amusing and insightful and felt that Freddie's comments and criticisms of society and the music business are still extremely relevant in today's world. The Foreword is written by Freddie's Mum Jer Bulsara so you know it has the family's seal of approval.I read it over the course of one weekend - a major feat for me! I just couldn't put it down. As I was reading it I could actually picture Freddie saying these words - nothing is contrived or forced, it is wholely and solely "Freddie Mercury - in his own words!" This man truly is a Legend.True fans will not be disappointed with this book! Now, if only Brian, Roger and John would do the same.......!!

The last 3 chapters are very sad. Freddie is talking about his age
Almost all the material for the book comes from most of his interviews which you can see on You Tube. But...you find yourself reading/hearing the words as Freddie would have spoken them. If your a mega fan as I have been since the mid 70's,it's kind of nostalgic. The last 3 chapters are very sad. Freddie is talking about his age, not living to 70, and many comments were made the last years of his life. You can almost tell when he really knew whe he was HIV positive. You can tell when it was full blown AIDS by his heartfelt words regarding his musicianship and the fans.

Great Book
I am new to Queen and Freddie. This book demands me to read it slowly and absorb all he has said. Interesting and I believe factual.Freddie fans should own this book. Be prepared to have some tears.

His Own Words
This is an excellent read as this is (mostly) FM's own words as the author explains. This I liked as it gave me a look into how FM really thought. Unfortunately the subjects that he is quoted on is mostly business and music. Although there were a few quotes that gave some surprising insights into his person thoughts there were not enough of them. I guess that is because Freddie was very private so I'll take what I can get! Still, a good read that I recommend.

LOVED this book
LOVED this book! The fact that Jer Bulsara had a part in this lent to its authenticity. Read it cover to cover in about three days - found it hard to put down. As I was reading, I could hear Freddie actually saying some of the things in this book. All is taken from interviews of him. So glad I bought it!

Not written by Freddie
I really liked this book. It is a complication of his interview put into a story form. I feel that a reader can get some insight into the real Freddie. He is kind of telling you that he knows his time is limited. Of course we all wish was still with us. I will love him for the rest of my life. Such talent, a one of a kind. He brought so much joy to his fans and that seems to have made him so happy.

Frustrating in that it sounded like
A personal journal or put together conversations from other sources. But I enjoyed it a lot. You may find this the best of all.
