Might as well face it...if you have a Veloster, you will be having this replaced; lol!
I am very happy with this purchase. I was sent an official OEM Hyundai Veloster assembly lock button. There is no pretty way to say this, installing this can be a pain. However, if a novice like I could do it, than anyone can bloody do it.Here's what you'll need:-This part [obviously]-Automobile Interior and Dash panel tool removal kit [You can purchase this for about $8 to $12 USD on Amazon]-Socket wrench with a 10 mm adapter for the 3 nuts you will need to loosen/ remove for the replacement.-Philips screwdriver-Some patience and a drink [Beer & something cool recommended]Firstly, pop the hatch open from the inside [on the hatch interior panel]. Using your screwdriver, there is lock bypass right on the hatch itself. This will let you open the hatch for annoying moments like these. Move your screwdriver to the right and the latch will release the lock and the hatch will open. The worst part IMO in this install is the panel removal. Carefully, use the interior removal tools and pull downwards [firm, but gently]. If you find one side really fighting you, don't get mad, switch to the other side. Eventually, the downward force will pop the panel out [do not lose the clips!!]. Place the panel somewhere nice and safe for the final step. With panel off, unplug the power clip [if you are under hatch, will be on the left hand side which is plugged into lock assembly]. Afterwards, get your trusty socket wretch with 10 mm adapter and loosen the 3 black nuts holding the assembly and store these in a safe place for assembly later on.Now the actual circle area with the giant Hyundai 'H' logo can be removed safely. In my case, this was very snug. Take your time with it and try to pull it out evenly. You may need to sip your beer at this moment, that's okay. Eventually, your patience will pay off and this will come off. Do not yank this out aggressively. Please make sure there is nothing plugged in before pulling it out of the hatch door [so you don't ruin your electrical]. If everything seems unplugged remove this part and set it asides. You will see your old assembly lock button looking sad and defective. you can pull this carefully out. If you compare your new replacement part to this, you'll notice the replacement part will seem larger. Please do not panic, it is the correct part. Pick up that Hyundai logo circle part and use a Philips screwdriver to undo the 4 screws. Keep these screws in safe place, as you will need them to install the new button. Notice that when you undid the screws, a larger black part where the old button was housed will come out matching the new one your received perfectly. I just installed the new button assembly onto the logo circle part first; placing the Philips screws back. Then I threaded the cable through the hole on the hatch door and tugged back so this seal is snug in place. Next, get those 3 nuts and tighten them with the socket wrench. At this time, plug in the electric plug that you disconnected earlier. It is at this stage that you can now test your new button. If all is well, you will be able to unlock your hatch once more [joy!! // Sip more beer]. Go and retrieve your hatch panel; ensuring all the yellow clips are where they need to be. Carefully, line it up to the hatch door [top to bottom] and gently push upwards. You should see everything lining up like before and clipping into place with audible clicks. You are finally all set! Pat yourself on the back...finish your beer, because you saved $300 to $400 dollars if you had succumbed to a dealership for this very repair.I hope this review helps fill in some gaps for some brave people installing this. I found that many YouTube videos left a ton out. I apologize for my English, but give me a break please since it's my fourth language. :-)Cheers!

Fits 2013 veloster turbo w/ camera **
Fit and works perfectly so far. 2013 Veloster turbo with camera ( but note: you will need to remove the new plug by pulling the red tab and remove the terminal pins, then plug the pins into the old terminal -mark the black and red when you remove the old latch pins). Dealer wanted to charge $400-500 Nope, Not this girl! So easy I did it myself even with having to switch over the 2 electrical pins to my cars current multiple pin plug. (b-u camera/ rear wiper) Internet videos and 2 tools are all you need! Pop off the liner, 6 nuts (2 sizes) and 2 screws later...tah-dah!!

Veloster Rear Hatch Handle Release Button
This is indeed for the First Generation Veloster. This is the little Electronic button that opens the rear hatch. It is a Hyundai Genuine part and was a direct bolt in replacement. Unfortunately i needed to get this put in quickly so i was not able to take photos. The new button works perfect and install took about a half hour, hardest part was getting the cover panel off, but i just grabbed where the latch is and ran my fingers under until i got to the corner and i just gave it a nice hard tug, did that on the other side and then the pillars just have tabs so you litterly just pull outward and the panel slips off the other one. There is 3 10MM nuts holding the rear handle assembly as well as 2 body clips that i just used needle nose pliers on and sqeezed them to release them. unplug the switch from the harness by squeezing the tab there and wiggle pull it out. Remove the whole handle assembly and remove the 4 screws holding the button bracket and button. install new button and put it all back together without forgetting parts, nice solid hits after lining up your clips and all done!

Worked perfect for 2013 Hyundai Veloster without backup camera
Great fit! I have a 2013 Hyundai Veloster RE:MIX edition. The swap was super easy and took about 15min. Works great! Very pleased!

Works, not difficult to install, cost effective by comparison
No instructions included; check the Web. This is the only the electrical switch assembly that opens the latch; it is not a "lock" but simply one part of that system. Packaging says "original" which is not encouraging given the disappointing quality of the part that came with the car.

Fits 2012 Hyundai Veloster
Fits my 2012 Hyundai Veloster without backup camera. Geninue Hyundai part. Seems like a common issue with Hyundai Velosters is that the button for opening the hatchback falls apart. Pretty simple fix luckily, took me 10 minutes with some help of YouTube tutorials.
