Simple to the Point
If you are experienced at all in Greenhouses this book is NOT FOR YOU, don't waste your money. If you are looking for something to help you dip your toe into the waters, looking to figure out the very basics in short, straight to the point ways, this IS FOR YOU. I would also like to note, this book is only 100 pages and is in a decently sized font with plenty of pictures and a few helpful tables to help determine what type of greenhouse is right for you. It's a good place to start your research.

Choices, choices
As an environmental chemist and educator for several decades I tend to read many do called "how to" books which are so much garbage. This book is insightful and lays out pros and cons without the need to preach for not annihilate any one method. I enjoyed it immensely. If you are looking for a book to tell you how to put a greenhouse together this is not the book for you. If you want to have unbiased information regarding the pros or cons of one system to make an informed choice than this is the book for you!

Build your own greenhouse
Discusses 5 main ways or types of greenhouses used historically and currently.Gives good definitive pro's and con's to most common greenhouses in use.Covers effectiveness and costs associated with various styles.Different styles are discussed adequately to help you make choices based on your needs and resources available.I would be comfortable building any of these types of greenhouses discussed in this book.I have worked around construction all my life so could build any of these greenhouses/systems.I would get the help of a designer or architect for the more complex systems if I hadn't the experience .Anyone "Handy" could build the first three or for types of growing systems.I enjoyed reading and dreaming about the different greenhouses discussed in this book.

Excellent Resource. Clear!
After years of dreaming, planning, and waiting .... I will finally have a Greenhouse. This book was selected not just from reviews but it offered very basic and clear information for a newbie like me! It has not disappointed and has whet my appetite and enthusiasm to expand and do more year round gardening. Thank you, Mr. Bray for sharing your research, trial, and successes for others to learn and enjoy! Looking forward to more of your work. This volume compares and details types of greenhouses, flooring, window materials, and more. It was my go-to book during the construction of my greenhouse/organery. I am looking forward to new endeavors in growing year-round as well as learning to utilize hydroponic gardening.

waste of time and money
I found nothing in this book that couldn't be found in the various advertiseents from greenhouse supply or gardening/seed catalogs. Bought it along with the Black and Decker greenhouse book (for just a few pennies more...) and the Black and Decker book is a far, far better choice.

Different types for different environments and uses.
I got so much information that is actually relevant to building a greenhouse. The tunnel and dome are completely new to me. I feel like I can get started building mine now with confidence that I will do so correctly. The vents by the way; major help. Would not have included these had I not read the book

A Great Read!
This book was very helpful with the basics of available greenhouse choices and systems. It was a helpful review for me, too, and gave me some new ideas to decrease maintenance costs.

Mistitled Book
This book is mistitled.. When called "How to build a greenhouse " I was expecting plans and a list of the items required to build say the common standard 6X8 , 8X10 etc greenhouses.. however all this book does is tell you about the different sorts of greenhouses , giving their respective pros and cons. plus info on ancillary items like lighting , irrigation etc. ( which in itself is all very good information ).. The title should be.. "What you need to know when choosing a greenhouse ".. So I was very disappointed as what I wanted to know was how to actually build a greenhouse..

Very informative and easy read
I bought a used greenhouse earlier this year and this has helped me understand the differences between the different types there are and how best to use them. I am still trying to work out what I can use it for and how and hopefully this has now given me some confidence in choosing the right plants/vegetables and at the right time. It provides useful information on lighting and heating the greenhouse.Very well worth a read.

More a glorified pamphlet than a book.
Overpriced for what is little more than a flimsy pamphlet containing very basic information.
