Great aftermarket shocks for your Rustler VXL
Bought these for a friend's Rustler VXL and they fit like a champ. The shocks are a smidge high on the stock Traxxas body, but they look sharp and perform well. The price for a four set is great too.

fits slash 4x4
They fit the slash 4x4, came with screws and spacers. I used 50 pound oil. The truck feels like different machine, I am adjusting the spring tension and mounting holes. So far improves on the jumps but high ones getting it is hitting hard. On asphalt getting some body roll in fast turns. I'm going to try different springs and sway bar adjustments So far very pleased, much smoother in the yard.Rod end on the front shock came off and stripped some threads, Hobbypark is great to work with and sent me a replacement part. I could not ask for better service. I am using loctite now on the bottom rod ends, this should eliminate the screws from backing out. Time to put the shocks to a test at the skate park.

So far so good.
With the old blown out shocks the steering and throttle controls were only suggestions. After installing these shocks on our Traxxas slash it rips like just how I want it to. No more spinning out of control when accelerating. Also doesn’t flip during high speed turns. Filling them was a little tricky. I suggest watching you tube videos if you don’t know how. But after a few tries I got them filled just right. If they keep up the way they were today and i haven’t changed this review they’re well worth the money.

I love them !
After about 20 packs I can say these are doing great ! Ran 50w oil and couldn’t be happier with the performance. Any high speed launching and flat tracking is far better controlled than the stock suspension. (Stock wasn’t bad)I have sway bars and these bolted right up without the need for fabrication. The kit came with everything needed. And no leaks at all !!!Update 1. front shock shaft broke (after a 30mph hit) and I’m not sure how to get parts !!!Update 2. Hobbypark has an absolutely incredible customer service department and took care of me 100%. Sent photos and they sent parts in 2 days. Can’t get any better than that!!Thank you Hobbypark.

Extremely loose and don’t fit slash 2wd
I bought 2 packs was going to put them on my 2wd and 4x4 slashes but the little ball joints are extremely loose and I know aren’t going to give me the stiffness that I want because of it. They also don’t fit on my 2wd slash at all even though someone asked the question and someone answered that would. Clearly they were lying and just saying that to get the money. Overall they look really good but unfortunately I won’t be using them unless I need to.

Not bad for the money, not really usable as sold
The piston that is installed had so much clearance on the sides that there was no dampening action even with very thick shock oil. The inner bore is 13.7mm and the piston was 13mm. I 3d printed one at 13.55 diameter and it has pretty good dampening now. The provided spring is way to stiff for the slash 4x4. Now I'm off to find a big bore spring that's appropriate for the weight of the truck, the traxxas stock spring diameter is too small to fit. Probably worth buying something better that's actually meant for the truck.
