Great game
A fun game and good that there are different choices on each card.

Good game but not the best of its type
This is very similar to Taboo (ASIN B00D4NJSBW) and, quite honestly, I’d be inclined to go for Taboo unless you want younger children to play. There’s quite a lot more to Taboo and we reckon it’s worth the current £21.90 vs. £14.37.Having said that, for children, this does win, because there are no forbidden words. Each card in Taboo has the word you have to get your team-mates to guess along with five words you’re not allowed to use. That adds greatly to the fun, with a member of the opposing team pressing the buzzer if you use a forbidden word or a derivative of the word to be guessed. The rules for Call ‘Em All (you’ll need your best specs on to read them) simply require you not to say or spell the word on the card or any part of it, use an abbreviation of it, say what it rhymes with or sounds like, or make sounds other than words. All you get in the box is a deck of cards, a one-minute sand timer, a pencil, score sheets and the rules. If I’d never played Taboo, I’d be very happy with this and be tempted to rate it 5-stars. As it is, 3-stars is perhaps more like it…but I’ll compromise on a generous four.

Word game fun
This is similar to articulate where you have to have the other person guess the word without saying it so for 'haircut' you can't say hair or cut but you could say you go to a salon and they can change your style. They use scissors to do this etc. You go down the card and get your team mate to guess as many as they can. Unlike articulate you can have a range of categories on the card so in that respect it's harder but the answers were easier to use so that was easier. At it's current price point of under a fiver it's definitely good value. They are supposed to have a red word on each card according to the instructions and that was missing in my set. There's then an all play round where everyone can join in and try to guess the word. We tried this but it was just clunky as where the red word was missing there was a star at the end that we kept missing in our rush to get words in during the time. I'd miss out that part of the game as I didn't feel it added to the game.At it's current low price I would definitely say this is worth a go if you like word games.

Red words?
Call Em All is a decent quality guessing game. In the box are 2 sets of cards, a score pad, an Ikea sized pencil and an egg timer. With 1 set of cards you’ll see the category types e.g. lifestyle or places etc and at the bottom of the other pack are the instructions – so you divide up into teams (the more players per team the better), work down the card describing each word or phrase without saying it and get a point for each correct guess or 2 points if it has an Asterix beside it. Get through as many as possible in 60 seconds and the first team to 20 wins. What is confusing is the addition of ‘All Play’ where if there’s a word in red, shout ‘All Play’ so the other team could win the point… but there are absolutely no words in red in either deck. There are some rules like you can only say words (rather than sing etc) or say what it rhymes with/sounds like. You can also pass on 1 per card so you need to be pretty good at describing or you may get stuck on a card. It’s quite fun and fast paced but not that challenging so kids could join in too although they definitely won’t get them all. It is missing the words in red and is a bit restrictive with each card only being 1 sided so you'll end up repeating cards the more you play but still a game we’d play with friends.
