Grow Vegetables: Gardens - Yards - Balconies - Roof Terraces Paperback – February 18, 2008

I looked a long time for the right gardening book for me.. i was really hoping for a "all in one" kind of thing but i ended up finding this at barnes and noble so i got to look through it before i ordered it from amazon. This one combined with the "grow fruit" book are PERFECT i couldnt believe i finally got the book i wanted with just the information i was looking for... i almost got an american horticultural book but i realized im not interested in growing flowers at all and most of the plants you plant are just for looks. i really only wanted info on things i would be able to eat. im so happy i found these books.

I felt that I had to buy this companion volume to Grow Fruit which I bought some time back. That volume has guided me along the the straight and narrow successfully so I thought that the veggie one would probably do the same and I haven't been disappointed. A great book.

Great pictures, but not as much information as I was hoping for. I wanted something that was a real good how-to for vegetables. This gives a good overview, but not the get-your-hands-dirty information I wanted. Quality of book is excellent, visually very appealing.

I bought both the Grow Fruit and Grow Vegetable books for my dad as a gift. I think I am looking at them just as much as he is. We are both novices to growing our own food but these volumes are a great starting point. I love the pictures too. I am a visual person and need more than just text to guide me. Thumbs up!

Well done, and beautiful too!! Lots of ideas and suggestions about how to plant for small spaces and pretty spaces also. Details about each vegetable, soil, pests, you know how most books relate, but nicer in this one. I do believe I found a Winner!!

Though I am experienced gardener, I find myself referring to this book often. The pictures are beautiful, the information is helpful (though I wish it were a bit more detailed in the areas I am lacking), and it has helped me to brush up on things I have forgotten.

The outline and instruction on growing vegetables in a small space is outstanding and easy to follow...In these times this is the one way to save money cutting the food costs for one person or for a family..It works...

I bought my first copy about eight years ago when I first got started with my small garden. I boughtseveral other books, but this by far was the best. I refer to it many times each year. My daughtersaid she was interested in a small veggie garden, so I got another copy for her.
