Flimsy-seeming crime scene ruler
I was - in a hurry - looking for a ruler to include in photographs of archeological interest to show scale. I am not an expert in the field. This was the likeliest candidate in Amazon's inventory. It's one of those items where you know what you're looking for but not what it's called and therefore tricky to track down. For the price I was expecting something more substantial. It is quite thin flexible plastic, though maybe that has a virtue I've not discovered yet. It is marked black on white on one side and white on black on the other. Looking up the word 'Tatort' I see it is 'crime scene' in German and the title of a long running German language TV crime series. (See Wikipedia, for example.) It will serve adequately but seems very expensive for what it is - perhaps because of the TV tie in?

Professional's choice
The product is nicely made and has very clear markings for photographs. I am sure this is the professional's choice. It is reasonably durable. I use if for survey work and hold it in place with a bit of blue-tac before taking a picture. I like the fact they are double sided so I can choose which side contrasts best with the back ground.
