- The Black Pearl has become one of the most popular women's all mountain skis on the market and has inspired a whole series of Black Pearl skis from Blizzard, so now takes on the title of Black Pearl 88. 88 refers to the skis waist width, which has always been the width of the Black Pearl. 88 mm is a fantastic waist width for an all mountain ski as it remains quick and agile while giving the ski plenty of stability for skiing off trail.
- Blizzard's new Women to Women concept is a nod towards their commitment to developing and manufacturing high end skis that are specifically tailored towards women skiers. Their women's skis use W.S.D. technology (women specific) and the result is some of the best women's specific designs on the market. The Black Pearl 88 uses a uni-directional carbon frame in the core of the ski that gives it excellent torsional stiffness without being too heavy.
- This is enhanced by the women specific wood core with multi-directional fiberglass laminates and additional carbon layers. By using a construction that's heavy on the carbon fiber the Black Pearl 88 is a ripping all mountain ski that is impressively light. Blizzard's W.S.D.
