Nice instrument at a reasonable price... relatively easy to learn and use. While relatively intuitive, I think the user interface is a bit "clunkier" than it should be. For example, it always powers-up in its own default settings and not in the settings last used with the instrument. But, for the price, very good.REVISED: August 2017I bought this instrument on June 3, 2015 and used it daily for a project. Then I didn't use it again for almost a year. When I went back to use it in August 2017, and powered it up... it hung on the startup screen. A quick search of the Internet indicates that this is a "known problem" -- I've emailed Siglent for service, but have received no reply. None. The instrument is still supposed to be under warranty. But the warranty isn't that helpful if nobody answers your email.

This is a hard review, the instrument itself, I was very happy with. It performs as advertised and is relatively easy to use for simple waveforms. The software that came with it is unusable. It will load but not run as it is missing a DLL. Turns out that the software will run on XP but not 7. To get support, I am required to provide way more information than I am willing. As a wave form generator it is a good choice, not so much as an arb.

This a great little generator, for the price you just can't beat it. And here comes the but. The software is so out dated. Was looking forward to see how it worked with my computer and was a little disappointed, it will not run on windows 7 or 8. But I do like it, cant wait to really give it a work out. I am a hobbyist, it does what I will need to do and a lot more .If you are looking for a low cost generator that does the job this is it, just don't count on the software to be any help.

Very easy to use equipment. All of the parameter can be set up quickly. When I use number to type in parameters, there is choice of different units, so I can change for example frequency from kHz to Hz. Well designed user interface. It was two days delivery on time with my prime. Only problem I have is that I was thinking the LCD will display live waveform but actually it can only help to type in parameters. Overall, with such price it is a great product.

I bought this being a little skeptical due to its low price. No reason to be skeptical. I've used high-end test equipment for over 30 years and when I needed a function generator for home projects this unit has amazed me and I am very pleasantly surprised. It performs as advertised and is extremely simple to use right out of the box. I have used this unit standalone only so far and have not used it as a USB host or device yet so I can't comment on that. But I'd highly recommend this function generator for home and business use. You won't be disappointed.

Second time I tried using it, it froze in the boot process. Piece of junk. Anyone wants this thing they can have it for the cost of shipping from Tucson AZ USA.

I am very happy with this product. Silgent has updated the software and drivers. If the software version on the CD that is shipped with the instrument doesn't work on your computer, then just go to the website like the manual says and install the lastest versions from there.I installed the software on a 64 bit PC running Windows 10, and everything works great.Only con about this product is that the cables to output the signals don't come in the box, I knew that when I ordered it, but just in case a future buyer does not know. Still doesn't merit anything less then 5 stars.

Need this in a hurry and wasn't expecting too much given the price. I was totally wrong! For right around 200 bucks this is about the best single channel function generator I have played with. I also had very low expectations on how the user interface was going to work, wrong again. It's very straight forward and in most all cases is easy to operate. I would defiantly consider the higher frequency models if I needed it. I am using it mainly for audio work and it's very stable and again, easy to use. Totally recommend!
