Nice and bright, but some remote buttons don't seem to work
I tested these out before installing, just to make sure it looked good before I attached it all in place. Looked good, so I went ahead and strung it all up. Well, it looks really cool and if I use the remote to do the slow fade or pick certain colors, it shows all the colors just fine (cycles between RGB and the various colors inbetween).I like how bright it is, and I am using the full length as an accent in a large 720 sq. ft. room. Plus right now I have it doing the color fade at night as a part of my Christmas lights, I guess. Looks pretty cool from outside, seeing the windows all lit up.The bad news is that some buttons on the remote don't seem to do anything. Particularly the "B" (blue) button. Red, Green and White all do what they should, but Blue doesn't. Not sure why... when it's rotating colors, blue definitely shows up, so the string itself is fine. There's also a button on the very lower right (can't remember what the label is...maybe "slow fade"?) that doesn't do anything either. Also, in the section of the remote where it has the array of different colors, I think it's the ones on the bottom row don't seem to do anything.Basically, it seems like the remote is a little wonky. The other buttons, if I press them the lights will kind of "flicker" or whatever, so I know it got the signal. With those non-functional buttons, nothing happens at all.Did I get a bum remote? Do those buttons work for other people or is this just a known thing? I have some light-strip remotes from other products lying around. I don't know if they use the same frequency and/or signalling as this controller, but maybe I'll try those out next time I get a chance.Oh, one thing I do like about the remote is that it uses AAA batteries, not button batteries like CR2032 or CR2016. Those are fine but they don't seem to last that long, and really, who keeps spare button batteries lying around? (Okay, I do, but I mean, who *else* does?)UPDATE: I tried one of the many multi-button LED remotes I had lying around from past purchases, and it controlled the lights just fine. They must all use a common IR receiver and settings for what button does what color. Now I can set "Blue" just fine. The other button I couldn't remember was "Smooth" which is a misnomer... it's more of a "flashing/changing strobe". Which is weird because the "Strobe" button is more of a fast fade, and "Fade" is more of a slow "Fade". This is true on all my remotes and LED lights though... they've all been labeled a little different from what they actually do.

Zero customer service
This is the email I wrote to customer service:I am having an issue with my Brillihood Flexible LED String RGB Rope lights.1. I purchased the 100ft light string on Amazon in Aug 20192. In Oct 2019 the remote was not working so the very nice customer service person, Doreen, sent me the shortest length of lights Brillihood has in order that I may have a new remote because you don’t have just the remote control.3. On Oct 22, 2021 the controller broke. The lights were only 2 years old! I emailed Doreen to get a new one but she must have left the company. So I found that short length of lights she had sent me in Oct 2019 in my garage and took the controller that came with it to fix the 100ft light string. It worked fine again.4. Now, with that controller being only a year old, the controller has stopped working again. So, not being able to reach Doreen, I ordered a new short length to get a new controller. Cost me $79.99. However, the controller is different. It is much bigger, has a notch cut into the end of the plastic around the pins. While it also has 4 pins, they are not offset within the circle like the old one, so I cannot insert the controller end into the light string end. See pictures. We hired an electrician and paid $900 to put these lights up at our home. They run along our dock and under the deck overlooking the water. I must make the new one controller work with the old light set. It was very difficult to mount these lights and if I had to do it a second time it will cost me over $1000. This light string is only 3 years old and the controller has already stopped working twice and the remote once. This is unacceptable.I need a controller that fits the 2019 light string or an adapter and a new controller to make the new controller fit the 2019 light string. So to sum up, no one from customer service will answer me. Doreen is still listed on their ‘contact us’ page but she won’t answer emails.I would say to avoid Brillihood. Everything breaks in a short period. The remotes don’t let you use the colors they say (no orange for Halloween for example) and the pattern buttons don’t work. They are all the same I’ve tried three now. But even if you’re willing to have fewer patterns and fight with the remote, their controllers break often and without the co teller your lights are useless.

Great lights, but had faulty set. Was replaced promptly!
I needed some replacement rope lights for my living room behind my crown molding. I had an old incandescent set that was failing. I decided to try these newer led rope lights out. They use at least half as much energy, barely get warm and I can easily change the color with a nice remote control included. You can cut the set down to length if you need too (I did not need to though). Seems to be very well made. They are very bright. You can dim them, but it is hardly noticeable. You can set the lights to be one color or have it change multiple colors by itself. There is no sticky backing if you need to mount these. It does not come with any hardware at all. So far I have been very happy with this set.*Edit 7-29-19So now, I am not so happy....my rope lights I praised so much cannot switch colors now. The contoller quit working. My lights are stuck on blue. They work but cannot dim, do effects or change colors. The company has contacted me and is sending me a replacement as I type my updated review.*7-31-19 UpdateI recieved a brand new light set under warranty. I cannot thank Brillihood enough for taking care of their customers. This set works so far!
