D.Va Meka model review.. issues with kit from Amazon: I have tremendous mixed feelings on this model. Firstly, I purchased two, made by the same manufacturer, but from two different sources.. my first from Blizzard, and a second from Amazon because I enjoyed the process.Then why three stars you ask? Well, there was significant differences with second one I received from Amazon. The quality was different.. pieces would not stay on whatsoever. Luckily I bought wood glue for any emergencies and was able to glue pieces together. It's like the second kit came from a bad batch. In addition to pieces not fitting into place properly, some pieces sit higher or lower than other pieces, which ends up looking poorly when it's fully assembled. They've done a great job making straight wood pieces form a rounded model of a machine, but my first kit didn't have this issue. It was far more uniform and rounded.Issues with both kits: I had little issues beyond described above. To anyone whose planning to buy one of these, make sure to have a small scissor handy to trim extra stands of wood.. when you break away the pieces from the wood card, it oftentimes pulls off extra wood. You'll also want glue, for gluing pieces in, if necessary, and to fix any broken pieces. This kit is so fragile, but also requires force to lock pieces into place. Needless to say I broke three ankle/feet of the two I put together. Hot glue is a mess, you'll want to use wood glue for sure. I also recommend taking your time to ensure pieces are in the right places before committing to locking them in. The instructions could use some improvement.. there are 2-3 pieces in particular where the instructions aren't clear at all on where the pieces should sit. After tinkering and revisiting the pieces, I figured it out with the surrounding structure where they belong.Pros of both kits: In general I enjoyed this project. The first assembly took me around 6 hours while the second took me 4.. tons of fun for $25. The outside pieces with details are so neat! It's astounding how little circles to act as button and shading on the wood brings this model to life. I'm ultimately painting mine, but it is equally as lovely unpainted with all the detail put into the pieces. Lastly, it stands! I was really worried it wouldn't since the subject is so top heavy.. but it stands just fine (:Overall.. ensure you have wood glue in the event you get a... Not so great kit. You'll have fun with this.. you'll need patience, obviously.. but it's worth it.

I work on a lot of wooden models like this one and out of all of them this one was the most frustrating and fragile. Three different pieces broke with very little pressure and had to be glued (this doesn't come with glue so have some prepared). A lot of the pieces wouldn't stay put and fell off without glue because the holes for the pieces to fit through weren't cut accurately enough. Lastly after I finished the model it was pretty asymmetrical so I had to finagle it until it looked descent.

I found Meka to be a challenging build. In fact, I stopped a couple of times not wanting to break it.Havent painted it yet. Looking for the right color.

Some of the pieces don’t snap together perfectly, but a tiny dab of glue fixed that easily. Fun build, and looks great. Haven’t tried painting, but looks cool as wood anyway

It was easy to assemble and looks great, I gave it to my brother in law. He thinks it's real cool.

Looks cool but a lot of the pieces do not actually seem to fit properly, they just fall back off without even touching them.

It looks exactly like the one in the picture. It's a little smaller than the dva funko pop. It's not hard to build but it does take some time. I didn't end up coloring it because I would totally ruin it. It is a little fragile if you put too much pressure.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister, who built it within a couple days and loved it.

Product came in good condition and was easy to build for the most part. I thought that the product would be bigger but its about the size of my palm, which is a decent little size for like a office decor.
