Townsend Coffee Table

The table is a great alternative to the more expensive versions made by Restoration Hardware, West Elm and even Home Decorators infamous Holbrook coffee table (which has dramatically increased in price) - great alternative meaning it will look the way you want it to in your living room. With that being said, it is not that great of a coffee table. It is hard to tighten the screws when putting the table together; the table is not steady and wobbles no matter how much tightening and re-tightening of the screws takes place; the alignment of the table is terribly off (one of the metal legs sticks out 1/4 of an inch from under the tabletop). The fir wood top is not distressed or reclaimed, it is just a hollow slab of wood,as you can see in the picture. Last but not least, you definitely cannot sit on this bad boy. Yes, I know, who sits on a coffee table - but we all can remember times where we briefly have. Ultimately, the table does the job for me right now, at least as far as appearance goes. For those who really like this industrial look and plan to incorporate this style in their living space for a while, skip this buy and save up for the pricier well made versions instead.

At first I was very happy with the look, however, having the table for just a year and the thing is falling apart. The screws get loose all the time and I have to keep tightening them. Even tightened as much as I can, the table rocks so much I can't put any cups on it out of fear they will spill all over if someone even glances at the table wrong. Your money would be better spent investing in a more expensive table, I now have to buy another one, one year later...

This table was exactly what I wanted for half the price I thought I would spend. It's a little less sturdy than I had hoped for but it is a quality piece for the price.

Very wobbly, not worth even the cheap price. Looks nice but obviously it's not real wood and the bottom rails make it impossible to vacuum under.

The table looks great in my living room. It only had six pieces to screw together so very easy assembly.

I needed a coffee table long and wide enough to host parties, have drinks, eat at the table during football season, and most important CLEAN LINES that does not make my space look dark and bulky. The Townsend Coffee Table served EVERY purpose I needed for my new space. The wood top is sturdy and porous, which made the wood staining perfect. I used MinWax wood stain for a darker shade. IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Definitely the perfect coffee table for everyday use. I just wish it had the matching entertainment center.
