Suzi's last two albums for Mickie Most's RAK label from 1978 and 1979. Features the hit singles 'Stumblin' In', 'If You Can't Give Me Love' and 'She's in Love with You'. Suzi is still alive and well, gigging consistently in the UK and Europe as well as being a regular BBC Radio 2 presenter. Digitally re-mastered and slipcased. Extensive new notes by David Wells.

A more pop-rock direction on these two RSO albums.
On this 2 on 1 release, Suzi Quatro was starting over after four albums with Bell. Suzi was just 27 years-old and just got a role on "Happy Days", playing Leather Tuscadero and appeared on 7 episodes during her run, but lets get back to these albums. We get her debut 1978 release on RSO "If You Knew Suzi..", which was produced by Blondie boardsman Mike Chapman. This album gave us a different take of Suzi, but she still knew how too rock the joint. The Detroit native gave us two hits on this album in, "If You Can't Give Me Love", #44, a country pop mover, nice guitar by ex-husband Len Tuckey and the smash duet with Smokie lead singer Chris Norman, on the string laden popper "Stumblin' In" #4. You also get the melodic ballad "Suicide", Suzi does a great take of The Easybeats "Evie", Tuckey pulls out a great guitar solo here, nice drums by Dave Neal. She also covers The Kinks nugget "Tired Of Waiting For You", some tinkering keyboard work by Mike Deacon keeps the track on course, Suzi's vocals are tops here. A minor hit in England is the Chinn Chapman tune "The Race Is On", a fine mid-tempo popper, with nice wulitzer by Deacon. The 50's sounding pop of "Don't Change My Luck", Suzi covers the then just top 40 hit by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers "Breakdown", Suzi and Len give this one a nice makeover. (I like her version better than Tom's) In my opinion. The new wave pop-rocker "Non-Citzen", her last cover on the album is Rick Derringer's "Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo", she again puts a good spin on this classic. The album closes with the string soaked pop "Wiser Than You".Suzi would come back a year later and release "Suzi..And Other Four Letter Words", this album starts out with the balls to the wall early 60's type rocker "I've Never Been In Love", #41 Dave Neal's drumming gives us the earth shaken "Mind Demons", "She's In Love With You", #41, one of my all-time favorites from Suzi, should of been a top 20 hit for sure, remember hearing this a ton in the summer of '79, Suz's bass and Bill Hurd's keyboards keep this track going. The Quatro -Tuckey tune "Hollywood", is a great mid-tempo track, good story song, with some good rolling keys by Bill Hurd, watch out for the F-word warning at the end of the song. The title track has that 50's sound, Suzi could do these numbers with no sweat. The new wave feel of "Mama's Boy", a bother classic in my opinion, a Quatro CLASSIC! "Starlight Lady", one of those 50's mid-tempo ballads, very atmospheric. "You Are My Lover", her only cover on the album was written by Jack Lee (The Nerves) 1970's LA power-pop band, a song that sounded like Debbie Harry, but Suzi does a great job on this, very upbeat power-pop. "Space Cadets", has a very New wave tone also, with some Gary Numan type feels. And the album closes with "Love Hurts", not the Everly Brothers classic, this one has a great Dave Neal drum roll, very good 70's popper. Suzi would really give me her pride and joy (for me anyways), in 1980's "Rock Hard".

Leather Toscadero, girlfriend to the Fonz
So often, I hear something and track it down only to discover the rest of the cd just does not measure up. In this case it's "Stumblin' In" which will have you snapping your fingers and do chemical wonders for your other half who might want to dance with you in the kitchen. Suzi, you're a throaty little vixen.

Looked for this for years
I knew what we were getting as far as the music of Suzie Quatro my wife and I used to listen to the album If you knew Suzie, on cassette when it first came out thirty years ago. It was one of our favorite albums and I have looked for a copy of it for years thank you Amazon for providing one for us to purchase. The music on this album has brought back many happy memories of us being young and in love.

Love it!
This is so great. So many great songs on this album. I especially love the cover songs (like Evie, for example. Lol!) In my opinion, this album is a little better than "Aggrophobia." I mean, Aggro-phobia was great, too, but this album has some of the best songs. GO, SUZI!

Replacement of the two LP's
I owned the two LP's on this CD many years ago,but did not replace them when I converted my music collection to CD's.It must be an age thing as I am now in my 60's and I remember liking these albums in my 20's I have never been keen on Suzi's heavy rock tracks but these albums are a little softer not quite ballads but somewhere between.
