Based on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) toxicity categorization of antimicrobial products, Silver Dihydrogen Citrate is rated a Category IV, which is the lowest toxicity category, while conventional preservatives typically fall into Categories I and II. For reference, tap water is also in Category IV. This product is different than colloidal silver and does not have the side effects of colloidal silver. It is positively charged silver ions and not nano-particles of metallic silver.
