RHS Pruning & Training

25 years running a landscape company, I have owned at least a half-dozen copies of this book. All have been given away to friends or clients having difficulty learning pruning. This is a wonderfully clear manual with illustrations where to make cuts on the year-by-year basis. When I teach pruning, is often with this book in hand. The only addition I might make is that people feel the bush without looking. It is quite easy to find heavy older limbs that need removed. Pruning ornamentals while blindfolded is actually excellent practice. Like "John Brooks", and with good reason, Christopher Brickle has become a household word. My thanks to the Royal Horticultural Society.

I purchased this book from the Royal Horticultural Society. It costs less coming from the UK. I am growing a Belgium Fence around our property with 60 fruit trees. Since I have no experience with espalier I went with the best authors and their best reference book on the market. I was not disappointed. The text has incredible detail with easy to follow guidelines for training over 800 plants. Every page is of high quality with color photos and diagrams. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you want this book in your library. Christopher and David, if you are reading this... Mahalo.
