Biddeford BlanketsComfort Knit Electric Heated Blanket with Analog Controller, Queen, Sage

I am revising my review on this item after using it for about 8 weeks. The blanket is soft and comfortable. It was originally nice and warm on setting 5 and it stayed warm for most of the night, 7 or 8 hours. Now I need to turn the dial to the maximum setting 10 to get much warmth. And it only stays warm for about 3 hours and then loses most of the heat. Also it seems that about half the heating elements are no longer working. They don't warm up at all in some places which makes the overall warmth inconsistent. There is some warmth on one edge of the blanket but not much on the other edge. And there is very little warmth in the center. I have to get up 2 or 3 times at night, turn it off for about 10 minutes, then turn it on again to get it to reheat.

We have used this style and brand of blanket for many years and love the fact that it is NOT a blanket that adjusts to your body heat, it is the old style that we wanted, when you set it, the temp stays there. We live in Montana where winters are long and cold. The only big negative is the controls! On every Biddeford blanket we have purchased the controls gave out within a month or earlier! Warranty is a joke because you cannot return to store you purchased it but have to return to Biddeford and WAIT for a replacement wich, when you depend on the heat, is horrible! One time we bought 2 knowing one would break pretty quick and it did. We then moved into an RV full time and could not use it when not on shore power so left it behind us. Recently we had an unplanned glitch in our travel plans are are now on shore power all of the time so, with trepeidation, purchased another.....YUP about a month and one is ify and the other quit! Suggest you purchase an Amazon warranty if offered, we cannot remember if one was offered but wish we had not put our faith in Biddeford! WE have found no other electric blanket that heats like the ones we grew up with, they all now have their own minds and heat or not heat depending on your body temp and we won't use them any more. If you love to gamble and don't mind waiting for a replacement, buy this one, it is really great....when it works!! We are very sad about all of this, for sure!

My husband and I both love this Queen size electric blanket. It works great. Our bed is so warm when we get in it at night.Our other electric blanket never worked this well. It looks great too. Stays on our bed with no slipping or sliding and is big enough that it hangs over the sides a little on each side. This is important to me because I turn over a lot in the night and with this blanket my shoulder and back stays covered and warm.We really love it!! Have had no problems with it at all. I like that the dials have a light on them so that I can see how to adjust them without having to turn the lights on.

The weather finally changed and I opened up my electric blanket. Well....not a good sign when the controls don't match each other. I plugged it in anyway as my window to return the blanket closed in October. One side works, the other, not so much.I'm going to have to buy a new blanket. Save your money.

Electric blankets can be pretty flakey. They seem to just quit working now-a-days. I will update this review after I have had it for either more than a year... or it quits. The features of this blanket are everything I wanted. Light weight, SOFT, the controls are nice. AND, I practically stole it for $39.99 earlier this week. This was the only color that was not $65 or more. Amazon said it would be a few weeks before it was back in stock. I couldn't press the "buy" button fast enough. It actually shipped just 2 days later. It just arrived today. I see the price is back up to $65. Lucky me...so far. I'll be back...UPDATE May 15, 2020: First night test, I turned it on high 45 minutes before going to bed (thinking of those frigid winter nights I've been out gallivanting and come home with freezing feet and chilled to the bone). HOT. This thing is HOT! I climbed into a furnace! PERFECT! Some blankets barely heat at all. I turned it off as it is not that cold here in May. At about 5AM the temperature was down into the 40's so I turned it onto level 1 (lowest). Again, perfect. Just enough to take the chill off the covers. I am covered by only a very thin micro-fiber sheet, this blanket, and a VERY THIN duvet. Very little weight on top of me. I slept like a baby. I'll be back...

These heated blankets are a must for cold weather! We have had several of the Biddeford brand heated blankets, and replace after 5-7 years of nightly winter use in the Northeast US. Nothing beats getting into a warm bed in winter, and we all prefer the blanket to a heated mattress pad, because if you get too warm during the night, you can simply move the blankets off of you versus being stuck on a hot mattress. Twin and full come with a single controller, and queen and king offer two controllers (1 for each side of the bed). Cannot recommend these enough.

I wrote a previous 3-star review for this item, but I've changed it to 2 stars. This blanket lasted 4 months before the controller on both sides burned out. At the two-month mark, one side burned out, and recently, the other side burned out as well. This is a queen sized blanket that cost me about $60, and it was not worth it at all. I didn't have any problems with it catching on fire, like some reviewers, but the blanket did smell like it was burning some nights, even when the dial wasn't turned all the way up (on 7 or 8). If you're looking for a short-term electric blanket, I still wouldn't recommend this one because for the price, it just isn't worth it. Either order from somewhere else, or definitely look into a different brand because this one is terrible.

I have owned several electric blankets and this is the worst one of the bunch. The heat has never been constant and now it stopped working after the return option ran out. I don't recommend this blanket or brand. I suspect that the control units have a serious problem
