Goth Girl and the Fete Worse Than Death by Riddell, Chris (September 25, 2014) Hardcover

My daughter (12) loves Goth girl. We also have Ottaline which she loves. Great, funny story with extra images dotted around. My daughter found these the perfect step between picture story books and 'proper' reading books without any images. She still loves the stories now and after reading edgewood is working away through the twig et al. series's. She did find the furgus crane books not as interesting (being about a boy) and more of that type of stepping stone book. Goth girl is suitable for good readers from about 8 years onwards, still an nice sharing book for those not so confident readers.

OK so I'm grown up, but I love Chris Riddell's books!! They are witty and full of nods to various genres, the stories are engaging, the art is always stunning, as is the overall look of the books. His books are my go to gifts for children (and some adults) for all sorts of occasions, and without fail they are always enchanted. The Goth Girl series is absolutely recommended, but try the Ottaline books too, equally great!

My daughter had read the first book and enjoyed it so much that she was keen to read any other books in this series by the author. This was not a very thick book and she was able to read it in a day. She was not disappointed and thorougly enjoyed it.

Very good in terms of drawings and descriptive writting, the personalities out shone the book the most but the odd chapter would be a bit confusing.

Granddaughter very happy with this series of books and will be eagerly awaiting the September release of latest one. Arrived in excellent condition. She was pleased with the coloured page edges, ribbon book mark and bonus booklet.

Now buying for second granddaughter who is reading Goth Girl!! She is delighted with it and enjoying it at the present time. Packaging and delivery excellent.
