I was surprised at how well the suction held the peeler down. It worked great the first day I was using it. Second day a piece stripped and it's useless.** UPDATE **Shortly after I left my original review, I was contacted by the sellers who wanted to make things right. They were very prompt, kind, and accommodating. They sent me a new product shortly after.The new product is by a different manufacturer, but is pretty much identical to the first. It does have the same design flaw as the first, but luckily is functioning fine for now.

Peels cuts and cores apples in seconds. Easy to use and clean. Works perfectly for apple crisp. I am so glad I made this purchase.

Is it me? This item was so confusing to me, and then came apart. Went back to the old way..until I can figure it out

For the price, it's a good tool. It doesn't suction well but once you finally get it steady it works well. It will take off about 85% of the peel but then it's easy to get the rest off. Has really cut my apple-pie making time by over half so it's well worth it.

I was hopeful that I would get a lot of great use out of this product. I liked the fact that it was suppose to suction to the counter to hold it - but, it wouldn't suction. I figured that I could deal with that; but, then when I went to go use it the 2nd time... the lack of it suctioning to the counter was the least of the concerns. The part that is suppose to peal the fruit and potatoes broke at the spring while trying to cut. I tried to fix it - but, gave up. Yes, I know the manufacturer may say, "Send it back and we'll replace it" - but, it isn't even worth (cost wise) for me to pay for any S & H or for that matter wasting the paper to wrap the box up and put a label on. Nope. I'll just buy another one - probably just spend the extra and buy this particular thing from Pampered Chef. I'm actually rather disappointed that it didn't last and that it broke on me. I love this particular product and it would have become one of my most used kitchen gadget essentials. But... well... it is what it is...

I've never used an apple peeler before and the instructions that came with this were not helpful at all. The diagrams were small and hard to read and a lot of the wording in the instructions had spelling errors.

If you dont have one of these and looking at this item its a great purchase. I have 5 kids and we love it. It doesn't suction that well but it does what it's supposed to we peel apples with it we have even peeled potatoes and made curly fries we love love love this
