The first one worked well, so I bought another (which is just as good)
My aged EN-EL4a batts were losing their ability to hold a charge but still worked, so I found this replacement and the price was worth a test. So far, with only about 5 recharge cycles on each, they're working very well and holding a charge for 500-700+ shots in the D3 and plenty of photo reviews on the camera (chimping and triage). It only took a slight wiggle to insert the first time but they've clicked onto the cover plate fine and slide all the way in without forcing. I've charged them on the Nikon 1 and 2 battery chargers with no apparent difference from the Nikon batteries. I just returned from a photo trip that included some 3300 shots with these 2 and even at low charge levels I still got my "last" shot before swapping.

Great Li-ion rechargeable battery replacement for Nikon battery
I needed a new battery for my old Nikon D3 camera. This product the EN-3L4 rechargeable Li-ion battery gave my camera life again. If you need a new battery suggest you consider purchasing it from DSTE. They immediately shipped it to me.

Works fine on D3 and D2x and with Nikon MH21, Mh22 chargers. But there's a catch!
I received two of these yesterday. Before using them I placed them in my two Nikon chargers, models MH-21 and MH-22 and ran the calibrate function. Both completed the calibration normally and when I placed them in the two cameras they both showed "New" in the <Battery Info> screen. This result is no different from the OEM batteries I replaced when they were new.Time will tell how long they last. I bought a non-OEM replacement a few years ago to have a spare and it didn't last long. I ended up throwing it away. Not this brand though.FYI my cameras are a Nikon D2x and a D3. These batteries fit fine in both cameras and both cameras seem to function properly. I did have trouble on my first attempt to insert the battery into the D3. It went in most of the way but stopped short by about 3/8 of an inch after hitting something solid. Having read other reviews here on Amazon in which other D3 owners couldn't get the batteries inserted all the way in their cameras I thought I was going to be writing a similar review. But when I investigated further to see what could be different from the OEM battery I discovered that, for some reason, it is possible (even likely) that the camera-specific end cap didn't get attached properly. That was the case for my D3. The end cap has a tab that extends toward the underside of the battery and clips on a short post on the battery. Unless you hold that tab close to the batter when you attach the end cap, it will ride up over the post instead of clipping around it. The end cap can still be attached, but when you try to insert the battery into the camera, it won't insert fully. I never had that happen when placing end caps on the OEM batteries But since they can be attached properly with only a little care I'm not going to mark them down for that. I had the same issue with the D2x battery cap. So if you can't insert the battery into your Nikon camera, check that tab. You might not have installed the end cap properly.

Keep the camera alive.
The factory one had been discounted for many year. This one will keep my D2xs and D3 clicking.

Short-term type
I bought this because of the low price--Genuine Nikon batteries seemed ridiculously high-priced. The thing charged normally ok, but it wouldn't hold a charge more than about five days whether is was being used or not. I finally found a genuine Nikon (at least it appears to be legit) at a decent value. So far--so good, but it'll probably be a few more weeks before I can finish running it through the paces. Guess you DO get what you pay for--in the long run....

NOT a nikon but for the PRICE!!! YES!!
I use DSTE in all my Nikons. EN-El3e and this EN-EL4a. I haven't had a single issue with any of them yet. They don't take as many pictures per charge as a nikon battery. Usually half as many but at 1/3 the cost! To me it's worth it! The photo is how I received the battery. THIS IS NOT DSTE's fault. It's Amazon's fault. No protective cap. No product box. No little paper manul DSTE sends with every battery. Was shipped in this lil plastic bag. In a big cardboard box with 4 air bags for packing fill. It bounced all around in the box. Fire hazard with no protective end cap. Amazon gave me the run around. Told them about it. Was told I didn't need to ship it back I'd get a new one sent out. Got an email saying different. Needed to send it back in for a refund. I ordered it for a reason and I was not shipping it back without an end cap as it's a firehazard. DSTE sells their products through Amazon and Amazon just handles their products. So I decided to show DSTE all the contact information that was said. Photos of how their products were handled. I don't know if it was a bad one sent back in and shipped to me or what. I'm not using it in my D3 and frying it. DSTE is sending a replacement battery. Out standing company!!!! Did what Amazon said they would but changed their minds. Hadn't heard from them since I contacted DSTE DIRECTLY. probably made them mad I did so. Lol DSTE 5 out of 5. Amazon -3 out of 5. Long story short. Use DSTE! YOU CANT GO WRONG! GREAT PRICE AND GOOD LIFE FOR THE PRICE!!!! You can't beat it!!! Just buy a few more because they don't last as long as Nikon! But 2 are cheaper than one nikon. 3 are exactly the same price! I'm happy!

Nikon D3S battery.
I had two Nikon brand batteries. One failed to charge after 6 years. In looking for a replacement I decided to try the DSTE brand based on good reviews. Received it in no time and worked right out of the box. My D3S recognized the battery and shows the battery is new. I did not have any mounting issue at all. After I used it for one cycle it seemed it fail to charge. There is no reaction with the Nikon charger when I inserted the battery. I emailed the seller and got a reply in a few hours telling me to charge it for 12 hrs. I did that and re-calibrate the battery and I have a fully charged battery. Very happy!
