Did you know that traditional Cotton is the second most pesticide-laden crop in the world? Five of the top nine pesticides used on cotton in the U.S. (cyanide, dicofol, naled, propargite and trifluralin) are well known as dangerous chemicals. Organic Cotton on the other hand is grown in certified pesticide-free and hericide-free soil using organic farming methods, covered in the Global Organic Textiles Standard. With organic cotton you can be sure that during production no harmful chemicals were used which also makes it less likely to trigger allergies. Organic Cotton is also softer, as the fibres have not been damaged by the chemicals. The print on the front of the garments are also non-harmful and no chemicals are used. They are all individually printed to order so you can be sure of a high quality standard. Under GOTS, only garments with 95% or more organic fibres can be labelled as 'organic'. What's not to like!
These items by Spoilt Rotten are excellent quality and they look as if they will wash & iron well. I purchased a number of different Mum/Son & Dad/Son items and am delighted with all of them. I wanted some things slightly different to what was quoted on the site and Tim at Spoilt Rotten went out of his way to make sure I got what I wanted where possible. The baby versions are a lovely soft cotton which will be kind to tender skin (and the parent version is just as nice!). Cute packaging with the individual baby items that arrives packed in little milk cartons. The printing is amusing and I found it difficult to stop buying items. Would I use again? Oh yes - great to get such good customer service. Some may think it is a little pricey for t-shirts but you get what you pay for as I reckon the little one will have grown out of these products long before they are showing any sign of wear.Think you should expand the range and introduce some different colours then I could buy even more!
