I was worried that this beeswax would smell terribly and would be unusable
After reading nearly every review that wasn't 5 stars, I was worried that this beeswax would smell terribly and would be unusable. I came to post a review for the express purpose of letting people know that this does NOT have a chemical smell. I created a coconut oil, almond oil, and beeswax salve with essential oils and there was absolutely zero chemical small to it! It does take longer to melt than the coconut oil, but not so long that it's cumbersome. Definitely worth the price!

Perfect!
Not sure why some people had trouble with this product! I have never made anything using beeswax pellets before, but I followed the recipe for the lip balm and it worked perfectly. The pellets melted easily in the microwave and blended with the other ingredients. The completed cooled and hardened product is exactly what I had hoped for!

Ok but not sure about the organic part
I'm not sure where the actual beeswax comes from and there is no certified organic stamp on the product. I purchased these to waterproof boots and they worked fine when my normal local supplier was out of town. I did test the melting point just for self interest and they melt as beeswax should which is different from other products like paraffin. My usual supplier is local and has many bee related products. I'm use to fresh wax where I can see the production of wax and other products like honey and candles when purchasing. I'm just hesitant of any item which claims it is organic without a certification and normally avoid. With the colony collapse issue with bee's having them in an organic environment whenever possible Is extremely important. When we lived in N. Calf near wine county we became friends with a honey producer and learned a lot about the huge problem we have with bee's and any little part a person can do helps.

Plastic and filmy, not a nice wax!
These don't seem like they are organic, I use beeswax for my body products and my baby products and I normally buy sticks and grate it myself but I decided to try these for a quicker recipe and it was terrible, almost plastic like! they didn't melt nicely, they re-hardened and left hard chunks in my lotions, it felt almost like a film instead of a smooth creamy feel like the other wax I use. I will never buy this again.

do not put in glass and microwave!! Educate yourself before using!
This could have been my fault of not being educated on this, but this type of beeswax caused the glass container to shatter from the microwave, AFTER I accidentally touched the glass and it burned my finger. Keep in mind, I had heated up my melt/pour soap in the same glass container, before this, and it never once burned me. This could have been much more disastrous than it was. VERY VERY Dangerous, do your homework on how to properly use this product.

I seen other reviews about bad smell, but mine had absolutely no bad smell at all. Melted great, blended smooth... will purchase again!!!!
