Do you need a "shunt accelerator" or a "series accelerator" type ?
You need to know whether you want a "SHUNT accelerator" or a "SERIES accelerator" type of thermostat. The SHUNT type are 3-wire and connect to 230 volts. The SERIES type are 2-wire and are rated at 24 volts. If you buy the wrong type then the "hysteresis" will be excessive and uncontrollable.Unfortunately Honeywell do not make this clear. It appears that all their thermostats are SHUNT type which means I have purchased the wrong type. My original thermostat was a Satchwell, but they folded years ago. However they were succeeded by Sunvic who manufactured the same range of thermostats. Sunvic went bust in 2021, but their stock can still be purchased. So I purchased a Sunvic TLX2251. What has happened to British manufacturing industry?
