Convert-A-BallPH-1 Bolt-On Pintle Hitch

If you are looking for a versatile, well designed, reliable, quality trailer hitch look no further. The Convert-A-Ball system is really a great setup. Out of the box compatibility with 1 7/8", 2", and 2 5/8" balls is great, and they interchange with a push of a button. No need to rotate the hitch like some other 3-ball systems out there. The balls and stem are all stainless, and hold up very well under use. After pulling a 4000# boat around for >1000 miles, there's only some slight scuffing on the ball, most of which wipes off with a little elbow grease. The interchangeable pintle is a bonus if, like me, you have a few tractor implements around as well that don't use conventional ball hitches.I bought this together with the 8-hole cushioned pintle mount, and the combination has been superb. The bolted assembly is solid (but a bit of extra work if you need to change ball height between trailers). The cushioned mount does a great job of mitigating the groaning and clunking that are common during starts and stops - it's quiet!!!The only issue I've had with the setup is that the assembly of the hitch and mount is a little bit longer than conventional ball mounts. For my specific case, that meant that the safety chains for my boat trailer would not reach all the way back to the hitch frame on the truck. However, with the extra holes on the 8-hole mounting plate, I've been able to run the safety chains to there and it fits the end hooks perfectly. (this is mostly a function of the safety chain system on my specific boat trailer, as opposed to the hitch...)All in all, very happy with the purchase. It is a solid, versatile, quality hitch - well worth the extra $ versus other ball mounts out there. I strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a robust and versatile hitch.
