6 in 1 Tomatoes #10, Pack of 6

Loved it! Used it for salsa, the best spaghetti sauce, and soup. It taste great right out of the can.

First of all, I know of no better base for a pizza sauce than this one. My generic pizza sauce recipe is:25 oz of 6 in 1 All Purpose Ground Tomatoes3 Tbs Italian seasoning1 Tbs sugar1 tsp salt1 tsp granulated garlicYou might alter the ingredients to your preference, but this basic recipe has served me well for 25 years. I make mostly deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza with it.The folks at Escalon take great care to grow world-class tomatoes, and this particular can's 6 tomatoes are a perfect blend for a chunky pizza sauce.These cans are becoming more scarce, so I'm worried what will happen to the price in the future. I always keep one can on hand at home. If I ever started my own pizzeria, this is the base sauce I'd use in all my pizzas and calzones.

I bought this big can of tomatoes to make a giant batch of homemade tomato sauce and it turned out great. I was able to freeze 6 large bags of tomato sauce and serve up another batch for dinner that night.

I bought a case of 6 cans, each 6 lb 9 oz. When I opened the box, I took out one can and the product was quite tasty. Much later, when I looked at the next can, it was badly dented. I thought I would just bypass that can when I needed more tomato sauce. I am now into the box and every can is very badly dented. The dents are between the cans and don't show on the box. It appears that the cans were dented when they were put in the box. I like the product but I have downgraded it in rating simply because of the unacceptable condition of the cans: five out of six. If I had seen the condition of the cans when I opened the box, I would have returned it immediately. For shame, this box was originally packed with badly dented cans and I am concerned to even try to use them due to the health risk of the dents. I probably will switch to another product!!
